Not good value at this time of year
The greens were slow , and after rain the night before we had to keep the cart on the paths, which did not help the experience.
Great day to be out
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Course was in great shape. Not at all surprised as this is a Disney property. views were gorgeous. greens had recently been aerated but rolled true.
A Disney Classic
I've played all of the Disney courses and this one is my personal favorite. It winds through different Disney visitor errors and is probably considered more of a shot makers course. There is plenty of room for error but you definitely need to think about how you will attack each hole. If you are playing in the summer, I would call the course before booking a round because when we have a lot of rain (which is common in the summertime) the course does not drain well and will be cart path only. For some reason the course does not disclose this on golf now. That has not been the case thus far this year, but just a heads up. The facilities are a bit dated but are very reminiscent of past champions and are never the less nice.
The course is in great shape from tee to greens. I believe they punched the greens a few weeks ago but the greens are fine in my opinion. I would recommend this course.
Oh, Disney now has a stationary cart girl on their courses and she sits at the turn. So, if you need anything I recommend getting it before teeing off.
tourist trap golf
While the overall course condition was fair, the staff seemed disinterested in making playing this course an enjoyable experience. The staff seemed unaccommodating, indifferent, and annoyed as if managing golfers like directing children and their parents towards the amusement park rides. It was quite clear that this course was made for the tourists trapped on the Disney campus who did not have immediate access to a rental car to get to the other much nicer options around Orlando.
We played 5 rounds this week at other courses (Tranquilo Four Seasons, twice at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes, and twice at the new Champions Gate Country Club - all impressive and highly recommended). Disney LBV was not only the most expensive of our bookings but was clearly the worst of the rounds this outing.
Early Morning Tee Times
We teed off first at 6:52. The front nine was very good and then we hit a wall of people on the back nine. They now allow groups to go off the back nine every morning for nine holes. The back nine was horrible. We sat there and watched a foursome in front of us that looked like a Saturday Night Live skit. We complained about them letting that many groups off the back nine and the pro shop said that's their new policy of allowing that. Spend your money more wisely if you're playing in the early morning and go to any of the many courses to choose from in the area.
Better hit em straight
Finally got to play this course after I got a hotdeal that dropped it down to $25. It was in excellent condition. Greens were perfect, fast and true. Beautiful scenery. However, if you do not consistently shoot in the 70s or 80s, I would suggest staying away from this one. Very challenging layout with tight fairways. Unlike the Disney palm and magnolia courses, which have no out of bounds and can be forgiving, LBV will punish any bad shot.
Nice Golf course
The Course is nice an in good Conditions. The Stuff is really friendly and helpful. We would play always again here.
Great value for money but very slow pace
Lovely course & great value but pace of play needs to be addressed. 5 hour rounds are not acceptable & due to the slow play in front of us the course Marshall stated we would have to stop as we would not finishe in 4.5 hrs! Seriously how can you finish in a reasonable time if the players in front are so slow & won't allow you to play through. Tried to get food after but staff in the restraunt were extremely unhelpful & we ended up leaving & eating at downtown Disney.
LBV
Great course, great condition. In keeping with what you would expect from Disney!
Safe Bet
This is not a course I would go out of my way to play again, but if you are in the area, it is a safe bet to play. The course is in good condition, the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful and you can get around the course, IF YOU PLAY EARLY in a respectable amount of time. But it is certainly not a "memorable" course in any way. I didn't come away with any "wow" factors for views or any impressive holes.
Disney does it right
This Disney course is one of my favorites! We go to Disney every year and this one is always a must play for us! Its a hard challenge for any golfer but is still fun even if you are playing bad! There is a LOT of water on this course so make sure you bring a lot of extra balls! No beverage cart on course but in between 9 and 10. If you are in the area give it a go!
Great course & round marred by rude marshal
Had a great round, but had one issue with a marshal saying our pace of play was too slow. We were a foursome following a three some and had another three some behind us. We were told to speed up on the sixth hole and again on ninth tee. We asked the marshal to calculate our pace and he finely backed down as evidenced by us completing our round in four hours (consistent pace throughout round). Pace of play is important, but this appeared to be driven by the group behind us. Just rude to try and push folks that are already ahead of schedule.
Hope to play here again.
Arnold palmer management keeps properties in great shape. It is Disney and you will get a scripted services but the bag guys are great. Not so much the "pro" shop guys. Besides that it was a great round. Pace of play was great. It's not like that all the time I must be honest. Greens are great. Go play this course.
Something at Disney for golfers
Staff excellent. Course in great shape. Resort rough and difficulty level. Good value. Convenient
Great condition
Very good conditions. Greens were great. Pace of play was slow, but this is Disney.
Good track but why can't Mickey make players rake their bunkers?
Typical Disney. Very nice employees and conditions are pleasing to the eye. Of course, there are no marshals monitoring pace of play, twosomes sent out consecutively behind foursomes, and an employee driving right by in the middle of a backswing and players who are almost universally unfamiliar with rakes or their purpose. Overall, though, a very nice course and a bit pricey which wasn't unexpected.
No Disney experience here... total disaster.
Overall, disappointed. Course is tired and looks like it has been worn out due to the efforts of cramming as many people onto the course as possible. Staff were only interested in getting as many people onto course as possible, no gap with Group in front, so waiting on every single shot. whilst the greens were fine, the rest of the course was poor and wasn't well kept. We found several staff members rude, we were a 3 ball and first off the second day, when a single asked if he could play ahead of us. we had no problem with this as he would have waited all the way around so we let him ahead. the course starter got very upset by this!! we played this course twice but should have gone elsewhere, played the Waldorf Astoria which was an exact opposite experience. The cast members didn't do their job, we wont be back!. very poor.
lake buena vista
its Disney so everything was immaculate, well groomed staff extremely friendly.
Beautiful
I loved playing this course, and the price was reasonable
Fun Course
LBV is a Disney course with all the benefits of being within the Disney property with their related service excellence. Enjoyable resort layout--some noise from boats and water parks to deal with. Slow play can be a problem even with the ranger on the course.
No memorable holes? #7 is the closest thing a lot of people will ever get to playing the 17th at TPC Sawgrass.
