Royal Oaks Golf Club
About
The brilliant Terry LaGree design harmonizes with spectacular scenery to create Royal Oaks -- a unique and picturesque course. Powder sand bunkers dot undulating fairways lined by stately oaks and shimmering water. The course, part of the Audubon system, has preserved mature trees and native vegetation, making it a sanctuary for migratory birds and an unmatched setting for your game. The 6,650-yard par 72 course features four tee boxes on every hole. The front nine is characterized by rolling fairways with up to 35-foot elevation changes, lined with tall Slash Pines and Blue Jack Oaks. The back nine features an open meadow appearance with stands of stately live oaks shading some of the greens. Generous landing areas reward well-placed shots.

Good course
Overall a good course not a stellar tract but a well kept solid golf course. Pace was reasonable layout was decent and had some twists and turns. Conditions were very good, with well kept greens.
Wonderful Greens
Course was an excellent condition. I have played here many times and it’s the best I’ve ever seen the greens. Pace of play was average for this time of year. We played the front 9 in an hour and forty five minutes, but when we made the turn it was all backed up. The second par 5 had three groups waiting on the tee. The back 9 took about 2 and half hours to play, so don’t know what happened back there. The only complaint I have is a rider fee for my wife was 20 bucks. That’s obnoxious. I
Everywhere else it’s 15 bucks. Even Disney only charges 15 dollars. I don’t agree with that. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. But 20 dollars come on man.
Nice course.
We had a great time at Royal Oaks. We were paired we a couple of regulars that said they play there once a week but were not members. Since I had never been there before I thought this local knowledge would help but on all but a couple of holes. What you see is what you got. The tee shot on 18 is over water, that is the only water on the course. Quite a few sand traps, but again only a few really in play. The tee boxes were good, the fairways were nice, the rough was good on some holes and sparse in some places but always playable, lots of trees. The greens were fantastic, not on a few holes but all 18. If you are going to play in the Ocala area add this course to your playlist you won't be disappointed.
Fun course with unique Florida elevation
This is a course I would definitely play again. The course landscape blends well with the surrounding community and offers a challenge on every hole.
Nice course, friendly staff
Went out early, second tee time available, I was a single and the foursome in front offered to let me play through.
It was smooth sailing until I made the turn and they had a couple /few groups starting off the 10th....Anyway I was for warned of this so I just settled in and waited... I was eventfully joined by a twosome and we made the best of it.
It really is a nice course and in very nice shape. The Starter was extremely friendly as was the Staff member in the Pro shop.
I would recommend playing the course !
Great layout
Great layout, had an issue getting into the private community. Enjoyable day.
Beautiful layout, We are snowbirds and will be playing this course many more times
Great course for the money
Nice layout with a few challenging bunkers. Greens & course over seeded. Very enjoyable. Will play again.
Great golf course
Had a very good outing on a fantastic golf course. Now is the time to play.
Another great day!
Old growth course in excellent condition. Still a good deal, even with winter rates. Will be back again soon.
Might be the best.conditioned course around. Not one complaint except for weather. Course held up nicely to the rain. Best value around. Play all over Florida and course conditions cant be matched for the money.
