Your approach to the 8th at Grand Cypress New needs to cross a burn, and you'll drive your cart over a stone bridge toward the green. Kitschy? Sure, but chalk it up to commitment to a certain aesthetic. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 08/31/2018

Great Links Course, Great recreation of St. Andrews Old
Its a traditional links course, so the fairways are wide open, and spotted with treacherous pot bunkers. Some greens are shared green and for the most part, have a false front or back or both, which make pinseeking very tricky. The GPS in the carts is very helpful when it comes to showing where the hazards are located. Really fun course, but scoring well really depends on excellent short iron play. Also, if there has been an extended period without rain, expect lightening speed on the greens.
The best in Orlando
The experience starts when you arrive st the clubhouse. They valet your car for you. The staff is very friendly but that is to be expect from a 4 Diamond resort. The New Course is a lynx style course with some replica hole from St Andrews. Hole 1, Hole 17 & Hole 18.The course is wide open but very tough fairway bunkers in the landing area makes this course challenging. The greens are fast but run very true. Great Course!
Nothing like it in the area.
This is probably one of the coolest courses to play in florida. Instead of the same old hit down flat fairway and avoid rough, there is no rough, just a huge well manicured field of grass with a bunch of mounds and well placed pot bunkers that seem to vacuum up your golf ball. With no pre-determined fairway to aim to, each holes provides multiple options to attack the hole. If that isn't cool enough, crazy undulated greens (some of them dual greens) make putting an entire challenge in themselves. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Orlando area. Could not give it a full 5 stars only because a couple of greens needed repairs. Nothing big for someone who usually plays $20 courses, but for the price, would have felt the greens could have been better.
Unique Layout in Central Florida
Course was in good condition and is a unique layout unlike anything else in the area. Course provides a good challenge of the short game but isn't demanding off the tee. Facilities and staff were excellent from the moment I arrived. I will definently play this track again soon.
Play here if you can.
Upon arrival, the staff were great, clubs on the cart, valet for the car, and checkin was quick and easy. The course is in perfect shape. The fairway bunkers are well placed to catch tee shots, and some are deep that you can only get out with a SW. The greens are large, but undulating, and putting was very smooth and true, yet tough. I'm an 8 handicap, and shot 90 in high winds when we played.
Wide co joined fairways on most holes with combined greens
Wide links style course where fairways intermingle so you can spray the ball off the tee and still recover most times.
Greens are also shared so you can get some distractions if two groups are on or near the greens. Red tees get a big advantage after hole 1 if your playing with your spouse or junior .
Great!
I have played here a couple times and really enjoy this course. The course is in great condition and for the price, one of the top. Greens were not as fast as I remember but in good shape.
Best course that we played all week.
A links course with pot hole sand traps and water hazards in challenging locations. Many of the holes had double greens. The greens putted true unlike the greens of other courses that we played during the same week.
Great layout for an enjoyable round of golf
Really enjoyed playing the course. Fairways are forgiving and the focus is on approach shots. Not a long course. Great course for someone looking to really enjoy a round with enough challenges to be interesting, but not punishing. Holes feature the same features and yardages as St. Andrews Old Course. Would definitely play again.
This is the best place in Orlando hands down.
From the minute you arrive you feel like a VIP. Don't miss a chance to play here. The restaurant is great too.
Great course, fun and challenging.
Played the 'New' course - sort of a links style course. In general the fairways are very wide - out of bounds almost never comes into play. However - watch out for pot bunkers in the middle of the fairways, creeks in front of some greens etc.
Fairways and greens were in excellent shape (one green was a little beat up).
Very much a 'resort' course ....bring you checkbook!
Worth Checking out!
I played the new course on a Wed afternoon. Wow.. incredible place. The course has no trees taller and has rolling rolling fairways with huge mounds and waste area. Tons of bunkers. It is a difficult course however you have HUGE landing areas and if your 2nd shot is on... you can score well. The course is not super hard but there is a lot of trouble.
Just a beautiful course!
Taste of Scotland
Great course with a hint of taste from Scotland links. Especially holes #16 (without a hotel to hit over) and #18 (with a deeper Valley of Sin) seemed familiar. Oh yes, the weather is also somewhat different. Great last minute offer made this a very good experience.
Great Course
This course is a treat to play. In great condition. Not super challenging from back tees. Greens are difficult enough to make scoring a chore. A must play.
A great effort at replicating the Old Course, St. Andrews.
This was fun. You really got the feel that you were playing some of the old course holes. A good challenge, with a slight breeze. Great condition. Massive double greens were fast and true. Open, wide fairways so not punishing. Main defence is the numerous bunkers which are well placed to catch a tee shot. Definitely worth a play.
Wide open fun course to play, great shape.
An all around great experience. Course was in great shape, fast, smooth greens. Wide open, great for pace of play. Overall a great golf value and a great course.
One of the best in Orlando!
It is a unique golf course for this area because of its true links style and incredibly fast greens. This is my new favorite course in the greater Orlando area and I've lived here for 3.5 years.
If it is sunny, make sure to wear a lot of sunscreen because there is not a lot of shade on the golf course.
Also, you will probably have to play it twice before understanding where you have to hit your approach shots. If you leave it on the wrong side of the hole you will be making bogey or worse.
Very tough to score well from the tips. Bite the bullet and play from the whites.
From 6,800 yds. it is a tough course because your hitting a lot of long irons and hybrids into the greens. The greens are fast and very undulated, tough to get close enough to make a birdie and if you aren't close you have a good chance to 3 putt. Play was a bit slow but after seeing the greens, you can understand why. The staff is great and very efficient. This is a must play for a golf trip to Orlando. Nothing else like it in the Orlando area.
Next time we'll play the N/S/E course as well.
the course was open but had challenging bunkers to make it exciting.
The course was great for me and family and golf now helped me find this amazing course and helped me save money.
