Those Greens played havoc with my score, but loved the course.
Challenging course, very challenging greens, but the course was beautiful and very well maintained.
Great place to play a round.
great course
enjoyed the course and thanks to golf now the price was right
open off the tee but well guarded greens
easy to find the fairways off the tees but greens elevated with numerous bunkers- no ladies entrance here. greens had been punched or this would have received a five star rating. enjoyable round with few others on the course.
Nice coursebut tough to see where to place shots from tee.
The course is maintained well and the staff cordial. The GPS system on carts doesn't really show the hole layout correctly. Playing the course for the first time a lot of tee shots, according to the GPS from the Tee Box, where well placed only to reach the ball and find out the was more of a left or right dog leg that wasn't illustrated on the GPS very well. However that being said I think the course is pricey, even with a "Hot Deal". Green were excellent rolled fast and true.
Great course!
At the golfshop every was friendly, it was rally good greens and the course was a challange to play. Good course, value for the money.
Nice golf course if you have time for a six hour round
I have played Grande Pines over 10 times the last 6 years; and I am sad to say I will likely not come back. The pace of play is at a snails pace to say the least. The course does not do a good job monitoring pace of play, the marshalls instead simply make excuses for the slow play. It's a shame a course this nice cannot manage the rounds for a typical pace.
One of the top 3 courses I've ever played.
When I got to the parking lot, there was an attendant waiting to take my bag down to the cart. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and informative and treated me like a welcome guest.
The course was in excellent condition. I played the same day an IMG event was wrapping up. The layout plays open and tight. Some holes don't need driver, just shotmaking. I thought the course was very much in front of you, but false fronts and elevated greens can make clubbing trickier. The greens rolled true and somewhat fast.
I've played golf in Myrtle Beach and all over and this course is comparable to Arnolds King's North only better. Well done maintenance staff.
AWESOME COURSE!!
From the moment we arrived, the staff was very friendly.
The property was beautiful and in superb shape.
It played very fair from the ladies tees.
It was my favourite course on my vacation.
undulating greens make scoring tricky
Nice course. Rough around greens could be thick and sticky not all holes have the same consistency . You really need to consider these shots. Greens were firm and quick but not fast.
Starter paired us with another couple which made the pace of play better and we had great company. I appreciated the suggestion ,alot of courses don't do this.
The course itself was quite nice. Loved the layout. Unfortunately we did not get to complete our round. The pace of play was extremely slow.
We were very disappointed in the pace of play at this course. There were 2 groups of two in front of us along with a group of 6. Not sure if they were all golfing in this group, but they were very slow and no one was monitoring them to either pick up the pace or let others play through. We were 4 hours and 15 minutes and only made it to14. Needless to say we did not get our full round in. Staff a little laid back and not concerned about this issue. We have played here before and it was better then, but this time we spent more time waiting which really was frustrating.
loved the course. It had a lot of great holes
wonderful staff, lots of stuff in pro shop to look and buy. We had a great day playing there.
A good choice.
This is a very good golf experience, from having a cart delivered to your car, through check in, to the 19th hole after the round. On this day, range balls were provided, which gave us a chance to loosen up a bit. The starter kept things on time and we saw the course ranger on several occasions, keeping play moving. As we were keeping up with the group in front, he only stopped at our group to inquire as to how our day was going, but it was good to see that the course is on top of pace of play.
The course is fairly wide open, but has lots of fairway mounding and bunkering, to keep things interesting and challenging.
Most greens were well protected with either bunkers, or by being elevated. The greens themselves were in excellent condition and were quite fast on the day we played. There was subtle, but fair, undulation to them, which made you focus on lines and speed.
The fairways were also in excellent condition, with rough that was defined, but didn't overly penalize wayward shots. A good mix of doglegs and straight. There is water on numerous holes, but also left you with room to play with a little more caution.
It is expensive, but discounted times can be found. Played 12 courses on this trip and due to course conditions, this one was one of the top picks.
Challenging but fair
The course was very well maintained, fairways in very good condition, greens fast. Pre play activities, i.e. bag drop, check in, range was accompanied by staff all along the way. Very friendly and accommodating. Course was in terrific condition. You needed to drive the ball with accuracy in order to set up approach shots. Greens were soft enough to hold approach shots but fast and true..
Nice course, staff not so friendly
Course came highly recommended, and after two other fabulous Florida golf experiences grande pines came up short .course conditions and greens were very good ,Otherwise ,the staff were indifferent, and only informed us of cart path only after arrival on first tee.Just not helpful overall..
Extremely slow pace of play
For a 9:50 tee time a 20 minute delay to start. Waited at every hole for foursome ahead. By hole 13 four carts (2 foursomes) were waiting to tee off behind us.
Great shape
Course was in excellent shape, 14hcp played the greens and found it to be a nice round of golf without having to "work" too hard. Greens in excellent condition. Would play again
Improved conditions since last week
I might have been too quick to judge last week as I decided to give this course another shot. The fairways are in good shape, not great and the greens finally have a little speed to them(still slow), from those I talked to this seems to be the mode for this particular course. It's a nice layout with a fair mix of go-for-it holes or layup decisions. They gauge pace of play by the time on the carts instead of actual play so even though open holes may be in front of a group they are in position as long as their cart says they are. Biggest complaint: play ready golf and keep up with the group in front of you!!
Course layout is impressive.
Course overall is very good. Greens are all elevated and well bunkered. A challenging course that is very interesting to play.
Great course, great staff, great price
Course was in great shape, the staff was really friendly. Booking on Golf Now was a breeze.
