Halifax Plantation
About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Worse course i have ever played. New greens are garbage. Terrible tees and fairways. Do not play here.
Look elsewhere
1) Tried to not honor my paid in full booking. The staff is horrible. 2) The local members act like no one else should be on the course. Over 5.5 hours for a round and no one would let you play through. 3) Weeds, little to no grass, especially on the tee boxes, which were either just bare or weeds. 4) Half the greens were amazing, the other half looked good until you stepped on them and your foot sunk into it because it was water logged (played in the middle of the day on a weekend). They would have to pay me to get me to play this course again.
Fantastic Greens
The time and effort put into the new greens is amazing! Faaaaast and true!
Slow & Disorganized
Staff ignored our GolfNow reservation, shifted us behind 5 member foursomes who wanted to go out together. Took nearly 6 hours to finish because the members are so slow and inconsiderate. The group in front of us ignored all appeals for pace of play to improve, routinely hinting for lost balls, and scoring well above double par without picking up. Never want to come back to this course, which is a shame because the greens are great. Tee boxes are rough, and the layout is decent.
Greens
Very much improved from 6 months ago, tee boxes are being redone. Course is coming around nicely.
Fun - somewhat narrow course
First time playing this course and I enjoyed it. It was pretty narrow so you had to hit the ball straight; especially off the tee. Many of the holes weren’t very long, but your placement was important!
It was clear that improvements were being made; which of coarse is a good thing.
Cart barn staff weren’t very friendly. As a matter of fact 2 employees told us we could not take the cart into the parking lot. We counted 4 in the parking lot on the way to our car. As we were carrying our clubs to where the carts were parked another golfer was given a cart and proceeded to drive it right past us; into the lot and right to the car parked next to ours? Guess we didn’t know the secret password.
Great place even greater greens
Best rolling greens around daytona. The wildlife is alo spectacular! Pace of play was perfect
Wow.....
If your a serious golfer then this is a course for you....the hardest greens in the area for putting....good luck
4 pm Monday TTime. Weather was clear mid to upper 80’s
We were seemingly the only 4 some and managed a 3 1/2 round. Truly the only nragative was the poor conditions of the tee boxes. The greens were excellent and very fast. Large undelating greens. Very challenging. The fairways presented good lies. The price was under $50. Parking ample and free. Bar service offered for a few beers and sodas at the turn $15 not including tip. Attendant at bag drop was friendly and responsive. Lots of deer and wild turkeys present on the course. Multiple sets of tees allowed us to play appropriate length for our mixed abilities group and card plenty of pars to double bogeys along wit a few birdies. We will play again.
Fairways and greens
They were great! The word ismtee boxes are gonna be redo soon! Boy will that make this course magnificent.
Conditions improving
The greens were redone recently & are finally rolling nicely, I would rate them “good”,the fairways need more grass, hopefully the recent rains will help, the tee boxes are still an embarrassment. This course used to be a better value, but a change of owner has raised the cost to play where it is higher than the current course conditions deserve. Hopefully the new owner has a plan for continued improvement?
Very impressive
Greens and fairways have improve greatly since they did reconstruction!
Halifax
As many of the recent reviews mention, the tee boxes and some areas of the course could definitely use some work, but overall still a good experience. The greens are in good shape and roll true. Course layout is good, and the staff is very friendly.
Tee box
Tee boxes need to be sodded, fairways need water, the greens were good.. nice course
Maybe next season improvement?
Wow, I was really looking forward, but disappointed. I read threadbare, and so true! Tee boxes were dirt. No water coolers on course, or even lids for clubhouse cups, at 88 degrees? Put a key for the mens room on course, on the rusted cart key ring. Greens were ok, cart paths were rubble in many places. Twosome in front walking on 17th after cart went dead. Whoops!
No Title
My only complaint is the tee boxes need overhauling, but the greens are some of the best in the area, and the rest of the course is in good shape.
