About
This 18 hole championship course opened in 1992 and was designed by Bill Amick. The shady fairways are bordered by huge sprawling oaks and towering pines, nestled in the shadows of Bulow and Tomoka State Parks in Ormond Beach. The course features five elevated tee boxes and fast, contoured, highly manicured greens adequately protected by traps. A unique experience for the golfer who enjoys not only a challenge but also extraordinary scenery.

Tee box
The new greens are very nice. The tee boxes all need replacement, very little grass and a lot of sand. I was behind 2 foursome of women on the front nine and it took almost 2.5 hrs to play. There should be a ranger on the course to hurry up slow players.
Slow but worth it
course in very good condition but they need a Marshall going around helping the pace of play!!
Very challenging undulated greens on front nine and very good layout on the back nine!! Gonna play it again Monday...don't skip the pub for great food and ice cold beer!!!

Greens
They have done a great job on redoing the greens very pleased with the condition on them.. Looks like they are trying to get the tee boxes straightened out over a big improvement

Not what we expected
Not impressed with their new greens. Didn't look new to me other than new grass. Several greens were damaged
and hard to understand this as they were closed for some time redoing them (reseeding) from what i could see. Play was extremely slow and we asked to play through the group in front of us. Never saw then again and caught the 3 foursomes that were in front of them but really didn't wait mush for them once they saw us behind them. At best this is a 3.5 course.

under total maintinence
total course was under construction,temporary greens only. impossible to putt, rough was heavy and almost impossible to get out of. I reserved online with Golf Now, you would expect them to know what the course conditions were going to be like....no discount, paid full price. Waste of my time and money!

Course is in rough shape
Temporary greens are only the start of the tough course conditions. Rough is tough, lots of lost balls. Turf is thin and long, ball nestles down hard to find. Price is great, if you just want to practice much cheaper to get a range bucket. Currently the course is not a good deal at any price. Would like to try it again once the course is in better condition, but that won’t be until the busy season

Shouldn’t be selling the course
Temporary greens, course not cut, played through 7 and felt my time was more valuable. Stop selling the course until it’s completed.

They stole my money
I am from this area and have played this course 50 times at least. I got there after booking to find that they have all temporary greens. Ok. My nine year old still wanted to play. I really tried but the course is not only playing with temporary greens but it is in terrible shape. Not cut very well even in the fairways. They should stop selling until they are back in shape because even at the price I paid ($61) for my son and I it is not worth your time.

Why can't GolfNow mention TEMPORARY GREENS??
It is obviously worthwhile to read reviews of a course before booking but I don't understand why such an important fact or problem like temporary greens isn't more prominently stated when going through the booking process.
That being said, for $25 or so you get to drive around a beautiful area, have a couple of beers, smoke a cigar, hit 70 or 80 golf shots and get some fresh air (except for the cigar).
