About
Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Golfer Reviews
Bad Experience/ Arrogant Manager
I've golfed in Florida for nearly 20 years now from Miami to Tampa & many in-between. This means I've been on many courses that have been rained on. When a course is "saturated " every course I've been on just makes the course "cart path only. " I arrived at Viera East for my prepaid annual Golf game with my Dad only to see that they closed the course on a bright sunny day. I apparently encountered the manager who arrogantly said, "we can't help the weather. " Golf Now was not notified of this closure & had to call to verify before refunding. Unfortunately this isn't my 1st encounter with rude managers & staff which is a shame because I have used this course for nearly 20 years. Needless to say, we called another course in the area & played there.
Soggy mess, Just punched
Stay away for at least a month, course is a soggy mess, no Cary paths so no cart path only. They just punched and increased rates.
Pretty good
Except for the greens on 6 & 7 the course was in great shape.
Enjoy playing Viera East but pricing is high.I am a resident of CDD district but get better rate on tee off I would play here more often if better rates for residents
Rough shape
Love this course and hate to speak ill of it but the bunkers need some TLC and sand (yes all of them) and the greens are in horrific shape, whoever they had punch the greens did an awful job and they have either not grown in properly or parts of the green are just dirt. Worst shape I’ve seen this course in all year.
Viera East
Course was in good shape, some greens had a lot of sand on it and 1-2 had patchy areas of no grass, fairways were good, pace of play was excellent, staff was very friendly, facilities were very good and clean. Would recommend this course great value for your money.
Another hot round in Florida
Playing as a single and teeing off about 10AM I passed one single who was stoping to visit a friend on the 5th hole before I caught up to a number of foursomes ahead of me on the 8th hole. Still the round only took 3 hours which was all I could stand in the 95 degree heat.
Interesting layout
Really liked this Course.
Interesting layout, decent condition and reasonable facilities.
One of the more enjoyable bosses I’ve played in the region. Plenty of water etc, but it is not unnecessarily penal. Play sensibly and you’ll be rewarded.
Will definitely return.
