About
Bordering the Indian River, Viera East Golf Club sprawls across a landscape of sparkling blue lakes and native marshland that is accented with towering pines and cypress trees. The well known layout is considered one of the best and most affordable public golf courses in Florida. The course features large, undulating greens that are carefully protected by numerous bunkers and risk-reward opportunities that will challenge even the lowest handicappers. Although the course offers a fairly formidable test, beginners will be comforted by the wide fairways that have ample bailout room. Viera East Golf Club's eighth and ninth holes are a memorable duo, beginning with a short par 4 that is the best birdie opportunity on the course. The ninth is another par 4 with water all along the left and trees along the right. Both holes are made even more challenging with strategic bunkering along the greensides.

Nothing special about Viera East
I’ve played Viera East once or twice a year for the past 5 or so years and I’d say it’s probably in the worst condition I’ve ever seen it.
The round started with a less than enthusiastic worker in the temporary Pro Shop - him and a computer only. Next came his instructions, start on hole #10, when you make the turn after 18; hole #1 is closed for repair so look for a path and just head to hole #2.
The layout is fun - pretty good variety. The greens are a mess with tons of weeds that affect putting. Hopefully they’ll correct that soon. I cannot recommend the course at this time.

Fun course
The course is challenging and in good shape. All of the personal are helpful and friendly. The food is delicious.

Major repairs
The course, club house & driving range is under major renovations so we had to play the back nine holes twice.

We could only play 17 holes, one hole was closed and we were disappointed

Construction on Course
New irritation system being put in so a lot of construction being done on a lot of holes. Many dry spots on fairways. Greens were good and rolled nicely. Driving range being redone. Staff very friendly and good grill with good food.

Course should flag itself as being under construction
I was disappointed to learn as I got onsite that the course is under reno with hole #2 currently closed. this should be disclosed in the Golfnow app.

Viera East Summer 2022
Viera East is in the middle of updating course drainage. One hole may be closed but they are rotating the closures. Course conditions are generally good. They are leaving the greens cut "up" a little for summer heat. Still, the course is a good value with summer rates.

Friendly front desk and starter; good course to play with despite the upgrade goin on the fairways and skipping one hole still commendable to play, very happy

Very well-kept course
The Viera West golf course was great! We enjoyed playing the course. It had nice wide fairways on most holes and was in great condition. We would recommend the course.

Greens had just been aerated with sand in places on greens. Bunkers were very wet and hard.pp. Pace of play was wait on every hole due to golfers lacking basis courtesy. Construction on course so can only play 17 holes.

Best course in the area, and getting better!
Yes, there is maintenance taking place, which is pretty much the case at every course this time of year. They are installing a state of the art watering system to make the best course in the area even better. The course is still playable, in decent condition, but so much fun because the layout is awesome. Challenging, but fair, with ample tee boxes to allow you to bite off whatever you want. Better than Duran. Better than Baytree. Better than Turtle Creek. And those are all great tracks!

Greens were punched and heavily sanded. No notification by course prior to booking. Course is under construction for Improvements both the course and the clubhouse structure. One hole was completed closed due to construction on the course.
