A Challenging Course
If you want to learn to hit the ball straight and use every club in your bag, then this is the course to play. Water or OB on almost every hole and sometimes the pins are tucked that can make this course much more difficult than the yardage indicates.
Fairways dry probably no rain and greens grass to high and bumpy
Do the sprinklers work
Haven't played this course in a while, the fairways are completely brown with #11 mostly dirt. Greens are at least green. Dont know what happened there, was one of my favs.
Turtle Creek
It was a great round but needs a lot of rain, Fairways dry and green bumpy do to recent airrating. It will be great in another 1 month.
Enjoyed it!
The T-Boxes could use some work bui other than that it was in really good shape.
Lots to like here
Had not played here for about 20 years but look forward to return visits. Proshop, and especially starter , very cordial...i.e did not treat one with distain for booking a pre-paid T-Time as do a lot of courses these days. I try to play a new course every week, and this is far above what is out there. Greens are a tad in trouble around the edges but never a problem putting; same with Tees for but no worse than what is out there these days with drought conditions in Brevard County. Layout is never boring. All considered great value , good shape, nice staff, decent challenge, and under 4 hours.
Very nice find
Looking for courses around the Cocoa Beach area and came across this little gem. A traditional Florida layout with tree lined fairways, creeks crossing in front of and behind greens and nice putting surfaces despite the dry weather Florida has been experiencing. We played with a local who was able to describe some hidden hazards. It was a fun experience.
Lots of winter kill
we found that the women's tee boxes had lots of winter kill and at times were hard to hit from
we realize that it is early in the season
Great Experience
We truely enjoy the course. The ground are on reasonable shape considering our ongoing drought
I wish people would practice ready golf. Our experience of late has been with groups that are more interests in socializing than playing Golf. Their unfortunate behavior takes away some of the enjoyment with delays.
Would not play for free
Pace very slow fairways poor condition poor layout
Fairways were a little rough in places. Staff was friendly. Lost several balls in water. Enjoyed playing this course and will go back.
Experiences Will Vary!
I felt the need to post a review for this course to counter some of the negative responses/experiences.
Booked this course a week in advance prior to a quick trip to Florida to play golf. Everything about our round was great. First, the staff in the clubhouse, the starter, and even members of the grounds crew (who genuinely walked by and asked if we were enjoying the course) were very helpful, courteous, and friendly.
My father and I were paired with two other gentlemen who knew how to play "ready golf". We finished our round in ~3 1/2 hours. A very quick but comfortable pace on what was a busy Thursday morning/afternoon.
The course was in fair condition but, come one, it was the beginning of March! And we only paid $25/each to play a course 20 minutes from the beach. I'd say putting up with a few muddy/dirt patches was well worth the trade-off and price. If that sort of thing bothers you I would suggest you simply move your ball off the dirt (!) or pay triple the price for a course that will use your money to maintain all those dirt patches. I, for one, would rather save $50 and just move my ball 3 inches.
Some people have commented negatively about the staff, the pace of play, or the course conditions. Either the reviewer, the employees, or the course were having a bad day, like we all are capable of having. I would suggest you go into your round here with an open mind. You experience will not be the same as mine. It might be worse...or BETTER. Regardless, for $25 we had a wonderful round. Getting a ball stuck in a palm tree on an approach shot will be a fun memory I'll get to retell for the rest of my life. After all, how many people can say they hit a ball that got stuck IN A PALM TREE? Cheers.
Great Course
Except for the bunkers lacking sand the course was in excellent condition.
The greens were great and ran true.
Lots of water so must be very careful.
Will be playing again in the near future.
Average course
The green fees are just average but I end paying more than average because of the booking fees through golf now. Amenities for that golf course sre really poor.
Beautiful course. Slow pace.
Very nice course that is well maintained. They may slightly overbook peak times which leads to slow play. It was a busy day and we waited a lot between shots.
sjpineault
i have played this course before and this time the greens were not in good shape at all. the pace of play
was very slow took 5 hours!
a good challenge a lot of trees water tight fairways and difficult pin placements
