Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Track was in good condition for February. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Delayed start due to a frost delay (out of their control) and course marshalls seemed to be vigilant in keeping play at a reasonable pace. It's narrow, but short. The famous Dye bunkers are well maintained. Bring your iron game, keep the ball in the fairway, and throw darts at the pins. Greens run true, but pin placement is devilish.

Booked for 12:46pm and when I arrived there were half a dozen carts in the 1st tee waiting. We were not called to the tee until after 1:30pm. We waited on every shot, every hole, then quit after 14 holes when it became too dark. They claim the deals were due to “frost warning” that morning (overnight low was 41 degrees), but kept selling tee times at a course that was already overbooked and backed up.

Power cart was not safe as had brake issues. Pace of play was terrible as waited on every hole and between shots. Never saw a course Marshall the whole round. Not sure even a free round is worth the aggravation.

Management does not appear to care anymore. With a development on the way expect it to get worse. Fairways in poor condition. Said they had a frost delay for over 40 mins after the previous day at 65 degrees. We doubt it. Golf cart seats all torn up. Changing the golf course to a lot shorter turned out horrible. No Marshalls to help the hackers move along. Never told anyone about the delay and the desk people said that system was now gone. Drove 50 mins for that mess. Won't ever come back .

Agonizingly slow due to a frost delay and every tee time sold out. The course is pretty beat up as well. Narrow and short, not a good combo for a lot of high handicap golfers. Greens very slow, fairways super tight lies. Left after nine because I wasn’t going to finish before dark. Would have been a 5 1/2 hour round… minimum!

Not enough carts and carts in very poor condition. Pace of play was very bad as we waited on every hole and never saw a players assistant to hear what problem was for the slow play.. Brakes on cart were very poor and cart was dangerous,. I was amazed that they would send out carts in such poor condition, considering liability. As a result of slow play we were not able to finish before dark. Would not play here again.
