Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Super Narrow Fairways

Interesting course, not a single flat green but they were in pretty good shape except for people not fixing ball spots. The fairways are very narrow so often waiting on people from other holes to run in and hit their ball. I had a lot of great rolls first time I ever got on the green in 2 on a par 4.

6:15 minute round - Legitimately the Longest round of my life

I’ve played golf for over 15 years and have never once even came close to taking as long as this round was. Over 6 hours to play 18 holes?!? Tee’d off at 9:15 and finished at 3:30. 3 groups on every hole. Course was in below average shape..

MGMT apparently has no idea how to run the place besides collecting as much money as possible, don’t care if you enjoy your experience. All about the $$$$!

our cart was given to other people (twice) so we had to go hunt and ask for carts.

By far the worst golfing experience I’ve had since living in Las Vegas. Go ANYWHERE else, you’ll thank me later.

Legitimately the longest round of my life - 6 hours!!

I’ve been playing golf for over 15 years and I can confidently say this was the longest round in my life. Tee’d off at 9:30 ish and finished right after 3:30 pm. There were often times there were three separate groups waiting on a tee. Balls flying everywhere, had 3 random shots land within 10ft of me the whole round. Keep your head on a swivel.

Everyone is friendly there and food is good. You’ll have plenty of time to eat in between shots…

Course is really fun to play.

Just wayyy too long for the price. Will not return

Tough showing

Frost delay of an hour, staff did a horrible job communicating and catching up. Played 9 holes in 2:45 and had to leave. Course is in average condition at best.

A Good Play

Enjoyed playing as a single and moving right along. The course was a good test of all my clubs. Local knowledge would have helped on a lot of the holes...was hard to figure out just where to hit the tee ball. Fairways were nice as were the greens. The greens held well and putted smoothly. A nice variety of holes made for a good day on the course.

Great value and not far from the strip

Enjoyed the course. Fun and challenging. Plenty of water for a Nevada course. Friendly staff, affordable and not far from anywhere you stay in Las Vegas. Best of thee courses around the $100 mark I played

Mixed experience

Had it not been for the 60$ hot deal I would have given this 3 stars. A very challenging and enjoyable play that puts premium on accurate drives and approach shots. Heavily bunkered and protected greens. Greens were slower then the looked and speed seemed inconsistent from hole to hole. On one hand the Pete Dye layout is exceptional, and while the turf and greens were in good condition, the course was dieing for some TLC. Edging, vegetation, landscaping was in need, everything look thirsty, and debris and trash through the course. Maybe this is due to proximity to the freeway. While staff was friendly, there wasn’t a level of professional courtesy you would get at similar courses. Better options are available for $129 round.

Challenging Course

Loved the challenge and very tough target golf layout. Definitely for the intermediate or above players unless you don't mind losing a few balls. Very tight fairways, water and huge deep bunkers come into play throughout the track strategically placed for anyone off their A game or trying to hit farther than they should off tee boxes or second shots. Love Pete Dye courses and he definitely through anything he could think of on this course. Greens were winter conditions and bent grass mix helped slow down areas when you needed help. Definitely going back again. Course conditions were decent for the price and Rumors are course will be removed within two years. I hope not. Can you take out Legacy instead? :)

Desert pines

I shot a 78 from the tips so happy.

The course underwent a renovation in summer so for the most part the course, fairways greens are in good shape.

It is a Pete Dye design so lot of visually challenging hazards, natural areas and undulating greens

Course is not long at 6200 from the tips.

Great value for money with mostly rounds under 4 hours.

Philadelphia area players

Loved this course, got great deal on Groupon but the club rentals were a little high. Desert pines did provide the latest Calloway maverick set in the rentals so it's understandable for the rental prices. Overall great little course about 10min from the strip, 5min from Fremont Street hotels in a uber or Lfyt. I will definitely recommend this course. Small course can be played in 4hrs! Great for someone on a short stay.

A Great Place to Play

First time playing this course. Course was in very good condition…for winter conditions. Fairways were good, greens held well and were very fast. Greens are large and have lots of undulations, which makes putting very interesting. Playing the first time I found some tee shots were tricky, not knowing exactly where to place the tee shot. Overall this was a great time on a fun/challenging course. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Vegas Golf Outing

Had a real fun time playing at Desert Pines with my wife and two really cool guys who were in Las Vegas as well. The course was medium length off the white tees and fairway condition was good, the greens had a lot of challenging undulations that required careful reads. I sank a 68 foot up then downhill birdie on hole no 12 that was really fun. The starter and staff were very nice and the nice covered range was included for a quick warmup. Good mix of water holes and blind shots into greens made for increased challenge.

Good Course, enjoyed it.

Good course, good design. Pace was pretty good (4:10). Lots of different shot designs and options off the tee. Made for some good thinking to get around.

Tee blocks not flat, searching for decent teeing spots. Ball marks on greens was a huge issue. Found myself repairing 10+ Ball marks per green.

Course conditions and price.

First time playing this course and paid $109. Online.

This course is not worth $35. Weekdays or weekends.

Dead grass all fairway and the greens are all in bad shape. Constructions along the sides and freeway noise so close to the courses.

It doesn’t looks like in the website.

Disappointed and wasted $.
