Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

All around, great desert golf! What made it special was the person working the pro shop that day. He was helpful, friendly and knew how to handle the customers. Most pro shop people are really stand-off ish and condescending. Not him. Great employee!

This course is not worth the price. Sand traps are awful. No sand so it’s as if you’re hitting on the cart path. Two of the three staff members seemed put out to take my payment and answer some standard questions. The cart guy wasn’t happy I asked for a new clean cart. Seat was filthy - I wouldn’t let my dog sit on it.

The course layout was unique but that wasn’t enough to save it. The clubhouse wasn’t nice and had a smell,,,

User friendly course

A must play for average golfer's. Mounds between adjacent fairways help keep shots on play. Back tees will challenge the best golfers but middle and front Tees are super fun for the rest of us. Only minor issue we had was on this weekday there was no cart service. So be advised to bring your own Gatorade

Fun course to play, but…..

My first time playing this course. It actually is a fun course to play. It is not a long course, but offered a nice variety of holes to play. The greens and fairways were in good shape. The only drawbacks were the slow pace of play. I saw a Marshal out on the course that came by once, but didn't seem to acknowledge me when I asked if he was nudging the groups ahead to speed up a bit. He just kept driving by! The other was the trash that was along the fence lines and present in the water in those holes. It looked like they may have blown in from the street through some of the open fence areas that need repair.

All in all, I would definitely recommend and play the course despite the two issues noted.

This course has always been very challenging for me! The front nine has gotten into my mind due to the water holes. I lost a lot of golf balls, but that is due to my lack of control in tight lies. I view this course as the place I will improve my club control.

Why Did I Wait So Long?

I have been golfing in Vegas for 15 years…and I kick myself for not playing Desert Pines sooner. Just go…this Pete Dye classic is fair for golfers of all abilities, lush and green with pine trees, just so different than the majority of desert style courses.

Greens rolled true and the turf is in great shape all around. I will be back.

this golf course is not in good shape. The greens are just OK but the rest is terrible. It is apparent that a rumour I heard about them selling the property may be true in the fact that they’re not doing any maintenance or looking after this property. Pace of play wasnt good 5 hr round. Course has gotten bad

All burnt out and greens suck, bunkers need loads of sand and work. Played Sunday, came in watch Rory Win the pro shop and restaurant closed at 4:00 pm couldn’t get drinks or watch the end of Masters.

We won’t play here again.. $140 u can do a lot better.
