Course Highlights
The Pete Dye-designed layout delivers a genuinely challenging and rewarding round with undulating fairways, strategic bunkers, and rolling bent-grass greens. Exceptionally friendly staff and affordable pricing make this Las Vegas desert course a standout value.

Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Good course for price range

Fairways are tight. But course does have some forgiveness. It won’t kill you on distance but the greens can be hard to hit. Worth its value for Vegas

And still one of the best in town

With most courses just coming out of overseed some have been a huge disappointment. Not Desert Pines. Still one of the best in Vegas.

Highlands review

Not a bad course and the views and elevations were quite good. Lots of homes alongside most fairways and that made it challanging. Polite staff and the course (although brown in a lot of spots) was in pretty good shape.

Good value

If they could make people repair their pitch marks properly this would be a really nice course to play.

The greens were slow and bumpy and could easily be improved.

The starter should lecture all players to repair pitch marks.

Desert Pines

This was a cool little course with a very enjoyable layout and an oasis of verdant vegetation surrounded by the concrete, roads and desert on all sides. I really enjoyed it.

Great Value

Got a great price to play this course. The condition was great, staff was great, and it came with a free lunch - anything on the menu, and a free draft beer. Exceptional value. Course is nice overall and definitely worth playing. My only complaints are that the driving range is run down and you hit off rubber mats and there’s no-where to use a tee. The only complaint on the course is that there’s lots and lots of some sort of ground cover shrub everywhere - so if you hit off the fairway, you pretty much lose your ball. The fairways are pretty close to each other so we were always hitting onto another fairway and there were others continually hitting onto out fairway. All in all, it was well worth it.

Not good for the money.

Slow greens that had more spike marks than I have ever seen on a course. Bunkers were rock hard, definitely didn't rake them in the morning. For what you pay to play here as a non-resident go somewhere else and spend your money. I won't be returning.

Golf Experience

Overall a pretty nice course!! Liked the layout, unfortunately course was very dry and not a single marker for distances besides the 150 mark which was annoying

Really nice course, but the greens where slow.

As good as the other times I’ve played the course. Although the greens where too slow for my liking they where in good condition.

Close to the strip

This is what most would consider a muni type course. It is priced at a decent level to attract locals and tourists. Conditions much like a muni. Greens are ok but pock marked due to players not fixing their own ball marks. One of the retention ponds had a bunch of dead fish floating in it. Not a great selling point. The restaurant is good and a driving range is availability with a bucket included in the greens fee

Great course

This golf course gets better every time I play it, from pro shop to tee to green and beyond. The management should give lessons to its competitors???

Great Value for Locals

I play golf about once per month and had never golfed at this course. I found a great deal on Golfnow so my buddies and I decided to give it a try. The cost was super low, the course was better than expected, and we got a free lunch included afterwards and the lunch was really good - basically anything on the menu. It’s not a resort course by any means, and it’s fairly short, but definitely worth the price.
