Desert Pines Golf Club
About
Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Good Course
They keep it in good condition. Be careful of water this is a challenging course. Not long but you have to think and really make sure you get the right club.
Many a time I pulled out driver and it was really a 7 iron, play this course smart! It will eat you up, greens
are tough too lots of movement.
Overpriced and horrible amenities
Paid way too much for a course that had little staff, beat up greens, overpriced cart items, and closes their restaurant to serve food by 130 on a Sunday.
Would not recommend to anyone
Course was over priced
Green were in fair condition
The course had drinking water on only 2 holes
There was not ball cleaners at any hole
The price of beverages was very high
Besides that well !!
Interesting holes but they are right on top of eachother. Squeezed into the middle of the city
Deceptively Tough
Given the short length and initial appearance, I was expecting an easy round. Even if you somehow managed to hit every fairway, scoring can be tough because of all the undulations, mounding and contours on the fairways and greens. Definitely helps to know many of the holes and greens so you don't end up out of position. I would definitely play it again.
Great Course and Staff
We were rained out on our original tee time date and the staff was super accommodating and friendly. We went there for a bachelor party and had a great time. Definitely look forward to going back
Overall course decent
Was impressed with sign in. Had cart ready for us and code for range balls. Only complaint was state of greens. Patchy and very rough.
Happily Surprised
My wife and I played on a cool day just after the rain ended. We were extremely happy with the course conditions - fairways were nice the greens putted very nicely. After playing through 2 slow threesomes, we completed our round in less than 3 hours. All in all it was a very good experience.
Target golf
Test of accuracy. Fairways in great shape although clearly the course gets plenty of play. Greens a little bumpy.
Great course
Great course, great layout, great challenge, and a permanent addition to my favorites list.
Play this course
Tight but very enjoyable. Challenging but fun. Course is in good shape. Played my best round of the year there. It gives you many different types of shots. The employees were the best. It is worth the green fees.
Las Vegas Standard
20 minutes from the strip by car this course has been an LV standard for some time. A good layout with some tight driving holes being off the fairway in the many waste areas is penal. Greens had been punched but were fast. They were also riddled with poa annua which made them erratic. Still a course I usually play when visiting and the GN deal is good
A bit different
Visually challenging and possibly intimidating because of all the blind shots and fairly narrow fairways. Lots of bunkers thrown in for good measure. If you are slightly off target then the banked sides help feed back into fairway or bunkers. A little more errant than that then you may be hitting over/thru trees, fairway banks and definitely blind. If you are a slicer, hooker of the ball-you will NOT have fun. If you are a fairly straight hitter, you will be challenged and HAVE fun. The condition of the greens were a bit patchy, above average speed for a public course. Hint, know where the Stratosphere is and know it breaks away from it. If you warm up before playing, be aware you are hitting off the mats(I do not care for that at all), also their practice balls are due for replacement. I also feel if you are an above average golfer and play more than once because of all the blind shots, the more fun you will have.
Great Course
Great day!! This was our third course in a three day trip and we could have golfed it all three days. By far the best one of the trip. Staff was friendly, course was not very long but was a challenge around the greens with alot of water to avoid and very forgiving on errant shots in the fairways seemed to funnel alot of shots. But full of well placed bunkers and traps. liked that you did'nt see the other fairways or tee boxes on almost every hole. Will play again.
Disappointing
Had players from all directions hitting into us all round. Our pace of play was fine (4:15) but couldn't find a marshal anywhere to help with the group behind us. Called the pro shop a dozen times to inform them that a lady and her ten year old son came from out of nowhere on the 14th hole and decided to play right in front of us. They were driving their cart on the green and didn't seem to have any clue what they were doing. No one was in the pro shop answered the phone so we were stuck for two or three holes before the twosome disappeared. I used to enjoy this course, but have found better options recently that can provide a more enjoyable round.
