Improvement Noted
I decided to give it another try after not playing here in awhile due to poor conditions in the past. I was pleasantly surprised. The course was in decent shape. They definitely are making an effort. Still a bit too much water on the course, evidenced by mud on my ball quite often. Greens and tees much improved. Pace was under 4 hours, but playing partners said this was unusual, usually slower. Staff friendly. Had an enjoyable time.
Chaotic
Entire process was utterly chaotic. Took five hours for the round. No ,marshals, and any place that specifically tells me to watch my clubs at all times makes me a little nervous.
Typical municipal course
Fall maintenance has just started. Too many people on every hole. 5 hours to complete. Greens were fair, but everything else was brown and hard. Will not return.
Nice muni course and great value.
First time playing the course and was impressed with the conditions and fast, consistent greens. Everyone from the pro shop to the cart guy to the staff in the grill made this a very pleasurable experience. All that and the fact that I shot the best round of my life made it a great day.
Slow slow play, not interesting course
Terribly slow play.. Course was a typical municipality course. Not very interesting and wide open.
Probably good for the beginner but at $50 (what I paid on golf now as a deal) not worth it. If I had paid $20-$30 I wouldn't complain about the course character (none).. But the start-stop play was frustrating. No course management.
Nice course but
The course was over booked. They did not have enough golf carts. Had a 12:30 tee time. Did not start until 1pm. Had to wait 10 minutes after each shot. Very poor day to play golf because of the over booking.
Good bargain, but
This course and rate was
A good bargain nestled in the middle of the city. The course was in decent shPe. It would be nice if they provided coolers & isce on the carts. It is entirely too hot for any course in Las Vegas to not have this essential utility. If this is to discourage players from bringing beverages it's a bad calculation on their part. They garner more disenchanted players than earning dollars in beverage sales. I would like to believe that they have the health & safety of players in mind in addition to profit maximization. This is the desert and Heat Stroke an dehydration are serious health matters. Let's get with the program Muni.
Course Condition
Very good condition for a municipal course. Great bent grass greens.
Will play more at least once a week
Very nice course. Will play more at least once a week.
Bottom type course
Basic course
Staff get a F rating
They said golf now you get for what you pay for maybe you should book with the club
A lot of poor course conditions, but great staff.
Nice staff, facilities were okay, and the carts were okay. A lot of brunt out areas of grass, but particularly irritating was the turf around many greens; like hitting off of packed dirt with a few weeds growing out of it. If you can play cheap, give it a try.
Historic muni course
Have played here many, many times over the years, and have seen the course condition vary from "not alive" to "pretty plush". Right now, as I type, I have never seen the greens as nice as they are. They are just about tour quality, and if people would fix their ball marks they would be absolutely perfect! The fairways have many dry patches, but mostly good lies. The bunkers have good sand in them, but the golfers nowadays don't feel the need to rake them. The pro shop staff is very polite, and professional with lots of fine shirts, etc. Good carts, great driving range, and great management. Great people in restaurant, with good food. It's not a country club with big dues, but your classic short "muni" course that was built back in1938 when the ball didn't go 320 yards, with a good mix of short, and long holes. Great place to hit balls, or putt and listen to the music.
like playing here
Course is in better shape than normal this time of year. I really like how there keeping carts from getting to close to the greens on some holes
terrible course
I am not a golf course snob by any means but this was the worst course I ever played. I booked this cousre on vacation and the course condition was bad and the holes were not even numbered. I got a good deal for myself and my wife but if it were free we wouldve paid too much. avoid if you want to enjoy a round of golf.
Flat course with many trees
This course is relatively flat and fairways are lined with many trees. Fairways and greens were in good condition. Played on a Wednesday afternoon and did not have anyone playing ahead of us. Completed round in 3 hrs. Excellent value ($13). Highly recommend this course.
Good Value
If you're looking for cheap golf in Vegas then there aren't a huge number of options. Las Vegas GC is one of those options, and as such I'm told it can get very busy & slow.
It's one of the easier courses you'll play, with very little rough, a few trees, and I think only one lake (in front of the par 3 3rd). There are only a couple of tight drives where the course bordered some adjoining roads.
The greens and tees were much better than the fairways, which were looking very dry.
This won't be the greatest course you'll ever play, but it's okay for the money.
Perfect Greens
Wonderful Golf Course, balls run for miles! Every single green was great, no bare spots. Wide open fairways, but still challenging with protected greens with trees and bunkers.
Good course
Course was in great shape considering it's a municipal coursr. Fairways were cut nice and rough wasn't bad. Greens were rolling teue. FAST. which made it interesting.
Starter was very nice. Cart girl was nice as well. Pace of play was decent. Round took 4 n half hrs. But for $18 I couldn't complain!!
Will play again
It's a muni course
i had mistakenly selected this course overdone others that I was planning to play. The actual fairways and greens were in good condition considering it is the municipal course of the City. However as the course has no Rangers, the round was 5 hours. There are better courses out there for the same price through GolfNow. Staff friendly and the threesome I was matched were very entertaining.
the course was in excellent condition
the course was well kept and maintained. The tee boxes and fairways were excellent.
