Desert Pines Golf Club
About
Desert Pines Golf Club is often referred to as "The Pinehurst" of Las Vegas. It offers a Carolina sandhills experience, yet is conveniently located just minutes from downtown or the Strip. This Dye design features thousands of mature pine trees lining the well-groomed fairways where white sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens. Because of the large number of pine trees, often times this course is cooler than other courses in the heat of the summer. Although there are no forced carries, water comes into play on 9 of the 18 holes.

Gotten a little… rough
Played here a few years ago. Solid experience. Cheaper than a Bali hai but not “cheap”. But dang it was in tough shape this time around. Course conditions not awesome. Range conditions horrendous. Rentals were in goodwill set territory. Clubhouse looked like a spirit Halloween in December. For $60, sure, but not again for that price.
Play before it closes
The course was in much better condition than expected. We’ve never played this course I figured play it before it closes forever. Finished the course in under four hours and overall a great experience. This is graded on a sliding scale, definitely not the best course conditions but mostly green and playable. If you’ve never played this course I would recommend getting a round in before it’s gone forever.
Ignore the negative…go play this course!
This Pete Dye true classic offers the best of risk vs. reward options. Unlike anything else in the Valley, you will feel like your in the Carolinas with rolling fairways, pine trees, and railroad tie lined bunkers.
Sure there are some bare spots on the fairways, but nothing that gets in the way of a solid swing path.
Destined to be converted to housing by the City, go play while you can. Long live Desert Pines.
Thanks for your thoughtful review, Warren4181748! We're thrilled you enjoyed the unique design and challenge of our course. We appreciate your feedback on the fairways and are constantly working to improve. We hope to see you back for another round soon!
Disappointed
The reviews were not great and lived up to that expectation. too expensive for what the course had to offer.

Hidden gem
I like this course. Not everyone will like this layout but I do. It is not super long but it is narrow. The course could use a bit of a facelift but I have heard rumours that it may be shutting down. I got a smoking hot deal off of the Golf Now app which was nice as the visitor prices in Vegas are quite high.
Thanks for your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoy the course layout and found a great deal. Your thoughts on the course condition are appreciated, and we’re committed to enhancing the experience. Stay tuned for updates, and we hope to see you back on the greens soon!

Very nice
It was a spectacular golf course that could be the best I’ve played to date. It like the Masters, but instead of full trees it has palm trees. Definitely playing there again.
We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your experience! The unique blend of scenery and quality makes it a special place to play. We can't wait to welcome you back for another round!
Desert Pines somewhat improved!
The course was in pretty good shape, the greens and tees were excellent. The fairways could use a little more water , but much improved from a couple of years ago.
The staff was very friendly and you got good value for your money using Golf Now!
Thanks for your feedback, Mbmorris2010! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the course and found value with Golf Now. We appreciate your input on the fairways and will keep it in mind for future improvements. Hope to see you back on the green soon!
Fun track for the price
Visiting Vegas i wanted to play a round close to the strip. The on Strip course was 300 and couldn't play until 10am but AI suggested Desert Pines as an alternative. At 125 for non resident, it would have been overpriced for a home course (san diego) but for vegas in vacation it was fine. The place looked like it could use some renovation (especially the practice range/ facility; bring your own rubber tee) but the course itself was in decent condition. Not a resort or country club but fine for a public course. The layout was short, even from the blacks so if you drive 250 you have a lot of wedges in but it is narrow with pine trees, bunkers and 6-7 water holes. Greens were a little slow but consistent. The staff was super nice and helpful and the bar was nice and food looked good. Never saw the drink cart though. Would definitely play again if back in town and not wanting to shell out the dollars for a resort or country club. Place of play was excellent, tee time 730 finished by 11:20.
Thanks for your detailed feedback, cbus09! We're glad you enjoyed the course layout and our friendly staff. We appreciate your suggestions regarding renovations and will keep them in mind. Hope to see you again for another round during your next visit!
Great staff
Great course. Conditions were poor but it was spring so not too surprised. Staff make up for it. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly.

Horrid shape
I played this course years ago and I remember it being a fun track so I booked the tee time when visiting Vegas. The course is in horrid condition, the fairways are often dirt and in a few greens there are 6 to 9 inch holes of dirt right in the middle of them for some reason. Other than the few holes, the greens rolled pretty well, although a little slow…i would guess about an 8 or 9.
The biggest problem is the price that they’re trying to gouge you for playing this course in this condition. if they’re going through some maintenance issues, then they should bring the price down to 100 bucks at best.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate your insights on the course condition. We're committed to improving and ensuring a better experience for our guests. Your concerns will be addressed as we work on enhancements for the future.
Dry & Dusty
Other than the greens and tee boxes the grass was dead and in many areas the ground was as hard as concrete. Yes I get that it’s the desert but is there some reason that there is no watering of fairways?
I’m generally not critical in my reviews but this course could be so much better with a bit of maintenance and watering. Sorry.
PS Played in mid March.
Thank you for your feedback, Colinai. We appreciate your insights regarding the course conditions. We're continuously working to improve and will take your comments about maintenance and watering into consideration. Your experience is important to us, and we hope to provide a better visit next time.
We love it here!
Desert Pines is one of our favorite places to play. The staff is always super friendly, the carts are nice, and even on busy days the place of play moves along. One of the few more affordable courses in Las Vegas that isn’t carved between houses.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoy playing here and appreciate our friendly staff and well-maintained carts. It's great to know that you find value in our course. Looking forward to seeing you on the greens again soon!
Thanks for the fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear you had a great experience and enjoyed the course's condition. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to see you back for another round soon!
