About

The Brigantine/Clipper Course at Shipyard Golf Club combines two of the three nine-hole golf courses on the property for one of the more challenging tests on Hilton Head. Brigantine/Clipper has a rating of 73.5, with a slope of 135 from the championship tees.

Designed by Willard Byrd and built in 1982, alligators sun themselves along the scenic, water hazard-filled Brigantine nine holes. With slight doglegs and well-placed bunkers, this golf course requires shot making and a good short game.

With plenty of sand and water hazards, Clipper may be the most difficult of the nines. This George Cobb design requires a good long game and a soft touch around the greens.

Decent course

Like a lot of northerners, I think the price is not comparable to the quality we have for less. But I get that we are in season (end of April). The fairways and greens were in good shape. I was a single and was with some nice guys. We enjoyed the round. The price was reasonable for around here, using GolfNow and applying a credit, I think it was $90 on a Tuesday afternoon.
