Blackhawk Golf Club
About
Blackhawk rests on the site of an old dairy farm, where the rolling terrain is suited for this links-style layout. This wide-open course features lots of water, loads of bunkers, and huge greens that are easy to three-putt if your approaches are off and you don’t have that feel for lag putting.
Each side has a punishing finishing hole. No. 9 is a monstrous par 4 that plays 464 yards. Off the tee, the narrow landing area is not conducive for the necessary booming drive, and the water causes problems in the fairway and around the green.
Hole 18 plays 430 yards, requiring a tee shot into the dogleg-right fairway that must thread two bodies of water.
The club prefers that you walk only on weekdays.
Getting there : Take I-35 north out of Austin, then exit FM 1825 east. Drive 5 miles to Hwy. 685 and turn left. Drive another 2.5 miles to Kelly Ln. and turn right.

Fairways need work
Greens are in good shape and roll true. However, the fairways look like they haven’t been maintained in years. No efforts made toward weed control and numerous bare areas whereas turf should be.
Good Day
The course was in good shape. Greens were slow but in good shape. I like the slow greens so it was great for me. For a better golfer you may not like the slow greens but they were fine for me. I really enjoy playing this course.
Nice course great staff
I like the pace of play, it's my favorite course to practice. Multiple Waterhazzards in challenging distances.
Nick in the proshop is great and super helpful.
Not coming back till improvements are made
Teatime was 8:15 AM. Front desk and starter were friendly and course was not crowded at that time. Fairways were average to above average, but traps were dried mud with very little sand in places. Greens were patchy with numerous dead spots. Some spots had been covered with sand to try to repair. I won’t play here again at this price.
Mediocre Course
Not much of a driving range. Major course mismanagement. Golf cart path in shambles in some areas. Fun course, just very poorly managed.
The greens are crap, the fairways have holes everywhere, the pace of play is terrible and the marshals don't know how to move people along to prevent a 5 hour round.
The superintendent should be fired for letting the course get to the condition it's in, especially since he was released from a different course for the same reason!
To pay the weekend rate and be forced to play conditions that this goat track have, players should be played to play here!
As for the 5 star reviews, I hope those folks stay there and keep my home course free from lack of etiquette! Good luck.
This course needs to massive improvements!
First the superintendent should be fired, then hire one that knows how to take care of a course!
The ranger and starter should manage their course and control the pace of play so it doesn't take 5 hours to play a goat track that this course is!
This course has the nerve to charge 45 dollars on a weekend? They should be paying players to come out!
Course in so-so condition.
First time playing this course. Staff was very friendly and there were no issues there. My only reason for giving a low rating is because of the course conditions. Fairways were not up to par with most other courses. Lots of bare dirt spots throughout. Greens were rough and bumpy. And traps were hard pan and most were holding water from irrigation. I give the staff 5, but the course a 2.
Pflugerville's Gem
Great course ,great staff ,#10 is the loudest green in golf :0))))),the only drawback was the greens were slow, but definitely will play again.
Great relaxed experience
We love the course as the pace of play is good, but not rushed. As a beginner you have the chance to redo a hit if you messed up the first one.
My son and I love it there and the staff is super nice.
Great course, friendly staff.
Fun track. I only got to play the front 9, the rain chased us off, but I really liked the layout and the staff was very friendly. I look forward to going back to play the whole course. On #9, if it's your first time playing the course, drive up to the creek before you tee off the playable area is weird. Water on the left and the creek is drivable on the right side.
Poor Course Quality on Front 9
Back 9 was perfectly fine. Some of the holes on the front 9 were tough to play on. Extremely patchy greens we causing balls to dribble on putts. Some of the fairways needed a haircut. Overall, playing golf anywhere is fun, I just expected a little more out of it for the money I spent. Also, be prepared to lose some balls to water unless you bring your golf GPS. Lots of tricky spots where you don't see a creek from a tee box. Would go back if they lowered prices. I've played better courses for cheaper.
