This course has a nice layout (played tournament courses)
For the $84 price the overall course conditions could be better. Played both Callippe and Eagle Ridge for less and their overall course condition was more consistent.
Challenging with Decent forgiveness
One of the Lengthier courses in the area,
There is a challenge to overcome on every hole.
Expect wide open fairways, with hard to navigate second shots in seemingly open, but very tight pin placements.
The rough is very manageable, but anything way off course will add up the strokes.
Par 5's still bring a massive challenge on each hole, plenty of carry to bring birdies into play.
Par 4's are a good mix of attackable and modesty.
Par 3's are lengthy and usually need accuracy or imagination off the tee box.
Greens roll true and bunkers are lush with sand.
A little more to be desired off some tee boxes that need to be leveled out or limited in use to repair damages grass.
A Fair and challenging test to see where your golf game is at…a top notch course
One of my favorite courses in the bay area. The tournament course is a fair test to see where your golf game is at both mentally and skill wise. The course is long but not too long from the blue tee’s ..but the wind makes most holes play longer and mainly the par fours that play near 400 yards -(there are more than a couple ) make scoring quite difficult, especially if you’re in need of a birdie to get a stroke back.
The par 5’s on the front nine are brutal in my opinion , no way I can reach them in 2 shots when the wind is blowing right into my face.
There are ravines that Separate the greens from the fairways on a lot of the holes making the player make a choice of going for it or playing it safe. Knowing how far you hit your Clubs is absolutely essential to scoring well here as with any golf course but the layout and design call for shots of precise distances and to different sides of the fairways to have the
Best angles on approach shots ..
The greens are usually pretty fast and in great condition but today they were overly soft and held shots much more than usual ..
Come play here when you can score well elsewhere as not a course for a beginner, overall one of my favorites
Good times
Decided on a 7am tee time because pace of play in the San Jose area is abysmal seemingly every day. Glad I did because today was great. Even with the high wind, I got around in under three hours and really got to enjoy this side of the course.
Grest golf ...
Love the Tournament Course, layout, challenges and beauty.
