Slow round
Very nice looking course,
Looks jus like the pictures.
That's all that I liked about it.
Worst pace of play I've ever seen.
Slowest round I've played in years.
For a nice course there was no marshal out driving around.
Foursome in front was hitting 2, 3 balls each at a time, with no regard to anyone playing behind them. It seemed like no one out there was fixing divits on fairway or cleaning ball mark on the green. Traveled a long way to play here and it left a sour taste in my mouth. Will not return.
A great rainy day
Drained very well for a rainy day! Worms on greens were not a problem.
Coyote Canyon - Tournament course
+ Booked a 4pm thursday tee time for 40 dollars.
+ Fairways and Greens in great shape
+Nice Carts equipped with GPS system
+Great views and challenging course
- I am a beginner and lost a ton of balls. Almost every hole had multiple hazards and change in elevation
-The wind has a major effect on club selection ,more than any other course I have played
-Did I mention its a difficult course? This is probably a positive for good players, but with the strong wind, up hill lies, water + ball eating rough, i had a long day.
Overall- tournament course is very nice albeit difficult. Ignore the nearby highway and you will have a good time. Solid value for 40 dollars.
Extremely SLOW, But Nice Course
Overall this was a great course, but my round took over 5 hours. There was a group a few ahead of us that should not have been playing on this course. Unfortunately, no one from the course was managing the pace so it took us over 5 hours. We finished 18 in the dark and tee'd off at 12:30. I will come back to play here again, but really feel there should be some management regrading pace of play, particularly with some of the difficult holes.
Perfect greens
Stellar day, absolutely perfect greens that must have been 12-13 on the stimpmeter, great fairways for winter, but greens keeper put some pins in crazy hard positions for a non-tournament day.
Great Challenge for Any Golf Enthusiast
Course offers a number of challenges for all types of golfers, but can still put a great scorecard together. A few holes where tee shot placement is key and a challenging greens. Love playing this course when a hot deal present! Even after a rainy day in the bay area the course played in tip top shape.
Can not walk this course.
Course is laid out not for people to easily walk this course.
Great Course - Complete Jerks
For a good deal of $78 per player, it is a nice course.
However,
This was a pre-paid round. 10:30am Non refundable, so the money was in their pocket several days before we played.
Saturday it poured rain. Sunday was supposed to be OK, So we could not cancel,.. without losing the $315 we paid.
We showed up early, 9:15, because the tee times were wide open due to the weather.
We were told:
We could not check in.
We could not use their carts. or the range.
Why? because we had already paid. So company policy states that we weren't customers.
They would rather get zero dollars for empty tee times than let us check in and potentially go out early.
They treated us like they wanted us to leave. Flat out we were garbage in their eyes.
2 twosomes went out in the hour before our time but we sat around and waited. Why should anyone play a round of golf where the management treats you like you're non human.
I have loved this course, but the company policy is to make you feel like trash.
Challenging
Fairways and greens were impeccable. Staff very friendly.
The course is very challenging from the back tees ... water, sand traps and creeks
Good course but...
A couple of things about the Tournament Course. I prefer to walk a course, and was not allowed to here. The Valley Course allows walking apparently, but not Tournament due to its layout and spacing. The course itself was in good shape, and definitely appreciated that the bunkers were well taken care of. The major downside of this course for me is that a lot of holes are either next to or in sight of the freeway, not exactly making for a peaceful/quiet round. If you don't mind that, I'd say take a shot here.
Golfing in the rain...
This beautiful golf course gives the average golfer plenty of challenges. Great staff. Nice facilities. Well maintained. Long even on the white tees. The wind can make you score boggies.
Tournament course
Course was in great shape and very enjoyable to play. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the carts or the service we received from the staff. Both carts in our foursome ran out of battery power before the end of 18 holes. The first started running slowly around the 7th hole. We used the computer on the cart to call for help, and then phoned the ProShop when no help arrived. Still no help, and fortunately we were able to make it back to the club house for a replacement after the 9th hole. The second cart stared running slow at the 15th hole, and once again we could not get any help from the staff so ended up pushing it back to the clubhouse. Kind of spoils the enjoyment of the game!
BEWARE
Hit with ball @ 300yds...knocked down...perp refused to give contact info...staff unresponsive in helping adjudicate, "it's between you guys"...no return call from GM Fish. Should similar occur, advise calling police for help. Would NEVER return to this facility.
Great course to play
This course is a Nicklaus designed course that I feel very fortunate to be located within 45 minutes from my location. I have played it several times since it opened and every time I have played it has been a very enjoyable round. The course was groomed to almost pro tournament condition. It certainly spoils me and I wish I could play it everyday.
Communication
Something needs to change with the way courses communicate with golf now and us on the punching of greens, boxes and fairways. I paid $50 for a course I wouldn't have paid $20 to golf it, 90% of the greens were unputtable.
Course in great shape, but right next to 101
I enjoyed the Tournament course and got a really great deal. For the value, it can't be beat. The course was in very nice shape, played honestly, greens were a pretty decent speed, bunkers were well managed. I like that there weren't many blind shots. Some of the holes were pretty memorable. 17 and 18 are fun when water comes into play.
My drawbacks- because it's right off the highway there's power lines in sight on every shot. It's hard to take a nice picture of the course without the power lines in it. There was no ranger on the course at all - pace the first 10 holes was great, then things backed up quite a bit.
Will return on another special rate.
