Del Monte™ Golf Course
About
Opened in 1897, Del Monte™ Golf Course is the oldest course in continuous operation west of the Mississippi. Designed by golf and polo enthusiast Charles Maud, this inland course boasts a meandering, hilly layout that has challenged golfers for more than a century.
It was the original host of the California State Amateur-still played on Del Monte's narrow, tree-lined fairways and small,well-protected greens-and continues to serve as one of the three courses on which the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational is played.
Adjacent to Del Monte™ Golf Course, the Del Monte Pavilion offers an inviting outdoor setting for any special event. Whether you are hosting a corporate outing or a tournament awards ceremony, all events are impeccably catered by the Lodge at Pebble Beach.

A bit overpriced
Since I no longer have a Duke card $124 for golf with cart is too much. Conditions good, disappointed that the grill is closed
Very Playable
Although greens were punched recently, the rolled pretty well. Fairways a bit thin but overall not bad. Decent value for $80 hot deal but not at regular price.
Average+, but enjoyed the day
First time playing Del Monte. Booked a walking rate - we brought our push carts, and found the course to be flat and easily walkable.
Upon arrival, was notified that the greens had recently been punched. They were very slow and bumpy. Would have been nice to have been given a heads-up during booking via Tee Off.
Everyone we encountered at the course was very helpful & friendly.
Agree with several observations made by previous reviewers:
-Lots of dry/bare areas between tee boxes and fairways. Did not affect playability, however.
-Greens were relatively small
Bunkers were plentiful, and in great condition with lots of sand!
Drove over from Modesto, where it was very hot. Weather was cool and breezy, a perfect respite from the hot Central Valley.
Great Round of Golf
Good course. Good condition. Enjoyable walk through the Del Monte Forest!
Another fine day in Monterey, CA
First time at this course, and I heard this course is the oldest golf course in CA. Thus I wanted to play a round at least for once. Due to the drought situation, some part of the fairway and the natural hazard were in dirt. In my opinion, it was little too much..
The way how the course was arranged was a little mixed up, so we had to watch carefully not to get hit by a ball from other players.
Glad I played at this course for the first time. Not so sure if I would return to this course any time soon though.
Thoroughly enjoyed Del Monte
Played Del Monte for the second time after many years and I had forgotten what a beautiful setting it is.
An excellent day
It was a great day all around
I was paired up with two nice local gentleman who were helpful since it was my first time playing the course
the course was in great shape and the pace of play was good
the greens are in great condition and every putt tools true if not in
Good time, will come back again
First timer here. I had a really good time playing here. I’m a high handicap (20), but I had a blast here. Greens were smaller than I’m used to but the Course itself is pretty straightforward. Its pretty cool to have a course of historical significance in our backyard. Since Pebble is out of my prices and skill range, I definitely look forward to coming back.
good day out
Played with two friends, great time in perfect weather. Restaurant was closed, other than that, great.
Course conditions
The course was beautiful. The fairways and greens were in great shape. Greens have a few surprises called undulations that added a bit of a challenge as well. There were a number of side areas and carries that were all browned out or barren altogether. Drought conditions I assume. Was quite the challenge for first timers but had a blast. We will definitely one back to this course as it was definitely worth the money.
Not a fun day
No driving range, incredibly slow pace of play, costs $50 extra for a cart on top of a pricey fee and holes so close together you risk getting hit with errant shots.
We quit after 16 holes....
