Rough shape
Course was in rough shape. Good luck finding your ball if you land a foot outside the fairway. Course need a little trim for sure. Pro shop duped us in green fee rates. So double check rates before checking in. Because they gave us a price over the phone and changed when checking in.
Rough is brutal
Course is in pretty good shape- not great.
Tee boxes are a bit rough, fairways had some dead and also soggy spots. Greens were in good shape.
The rough is absolutely brutal - you MUST be standing right on top of the ball to find it- US Open style. Also lots of cut grass siting there not picked up adding to the fun.
Hot deal mornings
Rough is real tall so keep a good eye out. A.m. hot deals are a plus.
2 Nines that don’t belong together GREAT GREENS
Should flip the nines. Finishing in a lame par three is meh. Played the course for the first time. Enjoyed the front nine, back nine lay out pretty lame. The course has fantastic greens but feels like you’re in the middle of a construction zone though due to the removal of one of the original nines to build condos or something. Greens again are the best thing here. Fairways all Poa Annua and long. Not sure how the description mentions Pete Dye. Don’t see that. If you’re a local probably a good value for the money but not worth a 2 hour drive. Too many better options with layouts that create a full 18 experience. Wish the back nine was more like the front 9. Most 5s reachable in two.
No mercy for error
Fair way is good. Green is excellent. But once you miss. Don't worry about to find it. Because you can't. :😜
The rough is rough
Overall, this is a fantastic course but when you hit 10-15 feet off of the fairway and lose your ball it can be a little discouraging. The rough is extremely thick grass, I happened to find multiple other balls when looking for mine. The greens and fairways are in amazing shape. The starter was 100% right when the only advise he gave us was to stay on the fairway.
Course is looking awesome
Course is in great shape right now. As good or better than any other course I've played in the IE in the last few months. Fairways are plush and greens are firm and running nice. The rough is long, with a lot of clover after the rain. Finished a round in 3.5 hours on a Friday morning. I would love to see them set up a net with a few hitting bays for warm ups, but otherwise the course is in great shape right now and the team is doing a great job over there.
Great for everyday golfers
Great course for Average-Joe golfer if you can keep it in the fairway. It would be nicer if they mowed or shortened the rough! It would also accelerate pace of play.
Killer Coarse for the Area and Moneys
Look! This coarse is not oak quarry or goose creek. But it is a great track with a killer back 9. The front is fun for being a track home lined coarse. The back is really where the cool holes come into play. Highly recommending playing before noon as it starts to get a little slow on pace. I tee’d off at 9:50 and played a 4:21 hour round. Which is normal for this day and age. The ruff is long and there is clover next to the greens so it’s easy to lose a ball if you aren’t paying attention to where you ball is headed.
Either way I’ll happily be back to play.
