Nice layout, needs water
Liked the course a lot, but really needs some water on the fairways. Greens are quick and roll true.

This course is on the rise
Yet another course with bad reviews that I consider unwarranted: It’s clear management is working hard on conditions and it’s very well run. I was paired up with a lovely member and we followed a 3some around in under 3 hours. Fairways were a little sparse/dormant, but the greens were A+ and also very tricky. Most holes had some bend to them, very few straightaway fairways, which I really enjoyed. Bunkers are being repaired, so they were hit or miss, but that’s kind of the norm on many courses these days, unfortunately. It was a bit overpriced, sure, but I really enjoyed Palm Desert CC and will definitely be back. And shoutout to the cart guys, super friendly
Good value .. Great layout for 5-20 handicappers
This course built in 60s has large fairways so you can open it up with Driver. You’ll smile after the 18th as no blind lies or fast difficult greens. Good size greens & long enough holes to make it a challenge. Typically course is in great shape . So far this season not as nice yet . Groundskeeper needs to pick it up & darken the fairways , fix dry dirt patches, fresh sand etc. Greens are always nice here. Food at cactus club is excellent, say hello to friendly bartender Robert. David at starter is awesome !

Very Disappointed
1. Signage was confusing - one sign said Cactus Club, the other Palm Desert
2. the hot dog was grey looking and tasted like over boiled meat
3. men's bathroom smelled of urine - disgusting
4. the power cart died after 9 holes - had to push it the last 100 feet
5. had played Tera Lago and Eagle Falls the days before Palm Desert for basically the same price - I would give give them both a 5 star rating. Palm Desert is hardly a 1 after my experience there yesterday
6. sand traps - it was easier to putt out of them than to use a sand wedge because the sand was shallow and very hard.

The course is in good condition, greens not quite there yet but overall it’s the best value for money around now.

a little disappointed
I realize that the price was based upon the fact it was a Saturday morning,, its the beginning of the season and most of the courses are still closed for reseeding, however, the price in relation to the condition and quality of the course was a little high. there are other courses that are much nicer and more attractive for noticeably less money.

A good walk spoiled.
We played 18 holes on Saturday, before my scheduled total-knee-replacement surgery Thursday. We were waiting at the 1st tee when staff informed us we would have to keep the carts in the rough because the fairways had been re-seeded, Which meant I had to hobble back and forth across the fairway between the rough and my ball. Which slowed down our rate of play. Which caused the marshal to ask us to skip a hole, and to check on us numerous times. Didn't seem quite right.
