Golfer Reviews
Virginia's beautiful golf course.
One of the most scenic golf courses. Very pleasant.
Great
Played 18 holes for twenty dollars. All new carts I’ve played here for years now and the best the greens have ever looked and firm broke my plastic divot tool
Great golf course
Excellent course! Challenging but extremely fair.
My Favorite Course
Shenvalee is my personal favorite course to play. Well maintained and overall fun course. Creek course offers nice views as well as some interesting challenges. Old course is short but narrow. Expect to hit a tree or 2...if you play like me. Miller is the toughest course. My favorite combo is Creek to Miller. Hit the Miller grill when you're done. Great fried chicken and burgers.
Spring golf
It is spring
Not all traps great
Fairways have some bare spots
Overall good
Great course
The course was very wet but what a beautiful layout! Sis in the pro shop is a real sweetheart!
Fun but no reservation
Thank you Shenvalee for working us in but there was me and another guy who booked a 12:40 reservation on a Hot Deal that did not get reserved at the course. It made a very booked course but still had fun.
Fun course for all, excellent for beginners and kids
I've played this course probably 30 times, and it's fun for all handicaps. It's a pretty relaxed atmosphere and I love taking my kids there. It's easy to walk and is short, but there are some excellent views of the mountains, particularly on the Miller 9, and the course is always in pretty good shape. Placement is key for a longer hitter on this course, because you never need more than about 230 off the tee to set yourself up for an approach. Most of the Par 5's are reachable in 2, but the par 3's are a good challenge, none are too short.
The range was recently redone to provide mats when its wet, and the sports bar has decent food at reasonable prices.
If you want a tour level challenge, go somewhere else, but if you have a group of friends who range in ability and you want a place to have fun playing, or want to go out with your less experienced family, this is a great option with 3 9's to keep you interested.
Great value for the money
Book your tee time online through golf now instead of booking through the pro shop. Was able to get a hot deal for $13. What a steal. Only problem I have with the course is that the golf carts are extremely old. Very uncomfortable and slow. This course is a hidden gem. Always in good condition.
Great!
Considering all the rain we’ve had the course was in excellent condition. Greens and fairways were superb, but the rough had quite a bit of water.
There was a tournament and many vacationers playing, so the pace of play was extremely slow especially the front nine.
At the turn the ranger directed us to a different course to avoid getting behind a tourney group. That sped up out pace of play greatly.
Rangers were continually monitoring play to keep the pace as good as possible. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant as usual. The Miller Grille serves excellent food with a great staff as well.
Note: for those not familiar with this course there are 27 holes: Olde Course, Miller and Creek.
Fun
This is a very fun layout and I can see it being more enjoyable the next time we play it. It was a very wet round after heavy rain and was cart path only so that took from the round.
Great Staff
The staff is always glad to see you play here. From the check in with Sis to the starters. The course has been deluged with rain this summer and the ground crew is working to get it back to top shape. Great value for the money.
Shenvalee Review
We have played this course several times but the rooms were empty. With the motel only 1/3 full you would think they would offer a special stay and play week day rate as they have in the past. We therefore stayed off site and booked through GolfNow. The course is always nice and well kept.
