Good value but a bit slow
Mid afternoon tee-off with the back nine slow. Close to five hours total round. Group ahead spending lots of time on greens with apparent disregard for those following
That being said, enjoyed the round and will be back
Spring ar Myrtlewood
Generally, I give the Palmetto course a 4+. The only issue that I had was related to Administration. I had a tee time as a single and was paired with a threesome that was only going to play 9 holes. I didn’t find that out until we were on the 3rd hole. By that time, it was too late to get a 3rd cart. If you’ve played this course you know that the 9th green is as far from the clubhouse as you can get. By the time we got back to the pro shop. I just asked for a rain check instead of riding all the way back to 10 and playing as a single for the remainder of the round. The Starter should have recognized this was going to happen and given us three carts to begin with.
Extremely slow play
Had 11:52 tee time, actually teed off 12:15. Group in front obviously had 2 beginners who kept dropping another ball after a bad shot. After 9 holes they had two holes open in front. Ranger either didn't pick up on it or didn't care. After 15 holes picked up and called it a day!
Good Value
Overall this course is a good value. The conditions were off due to the over seeding. It was very soggy. The staff was helpful and friendly. The layout is challenging but not severe.
Great Mixture of Classic Design & Target Holes
The course was fun to play with some beautiful, pine-lined holes mixed up with some target-water holes. Condition was a bit disappointing because they had just done the winter seeding and water was standing on a lot of holes. We even took casual water relief on many greens and collars. A few tee boxes are beat up. Fairways and greens were very nice. I would say this course is a little rough compared to the more manicured courses.
Staff was super-friendly.
I will go back but it won't be at the top of my play list.
Myrtlewood Golf Course
Beautiful and challenging course. Busy…it felt like it was maybe overbooked but we got our round in. Would definitely play it again next year.
Nice day
Nice enough course. Greens had a few brown spots, were a little grainy, and rolled oddly at times, but part of that is my not being used to bermuda. My biggest complaint is that a lot of the approaches, especially on the back 9, were really drenched and played so soft and soggy that it was inconsistent with the rest of the other course conditions. Last 2 holes are a very nice finish to the round.
