Great course that needs new carts
This is a good public course in relatively good shape. All the traps have been redone and look great. The layout is mostly open and is somewhat forgiving. I really wish they would get new golf carts like Forest Greens and I would play here more often.
Outdated gold cart
In comparison to other county golf courses in NOVA, PW is very outdated with golf cart. The pace of golf was extremely slow without any Marshall and there are no water coolers with near 100 degree . Will not recommend this course at all.
Nice layout and tough greens
The course was in excellent shape. The greens are firm and a lot of undulation. Much improved from when I played it several years ago.’
The golf course layout is very fun.
The golf course layout is very fun. The first 9 holes are not very difficult. The last 9 holes are quite difficult. We had a lot of fun. And I will definitely come back. But the golf cart may need some improvement. I think it's a bit old.
No management
I arrived 1/2 hour before my tee time, the clubhouse hours said it was supposed to be open, it was locked. A staff member was outside taking notes of tee times on a piece of paper, I asked why the club house was locked, he said he couldn't get a hold of anyone who ran the place. The course had NO WATER on the course and no beverage cart. I asked why, and was told,"Simetimes people wet towles and it might touch the spigot." I have played golf in this area for 20 years, every course has water on it. The heat index was 102 degrees. I have never heard of anyone getting sick from the water cooler. Many people have been treated for dehydration and over heating. Sad
Awesome
Is courses came a long way in the last seven years it's a great place to play
Better Value
I think Prince William is one of the better value courses. Amenities aren’t great but usually can get a good deal and layout is fun.
Need to be manage playing time
We spent 45 mins to play just 2 holes and reported to club house but nothing happenned after, and when I called again they want me to skip the hole to pass front group, I don't understand why I need to skip hole becauae of some other group played super slow at the course. They needed to ask the group to skip one or two hole instead ask our group. No one want to play 6 hours rounding.
Good local course
Fairly player friendly course. Forgiving and open. A couple long par 3s. A few dollars over priced imo, but since it's 10 minutes away I will keep playing it. Tiny pro shop/clubhouse. Belie average range and small putting green. Gas golf carts so you habe to be careful of noise for nearby players. No golf cart gps. Fairways were decent considering the lack of rain. Greens rolled well considering you csn still see thr aeration. Got some good rain last night so I'm interested to see how it plays next week. Very friendly staff other than 1 young man who was in a bit of a mood lol.
Tldr: worth playing if youre local, not worth a drive currently, could change with some rain and grass improvement.
Stuff
I’ve played this course a few times. Mostly, this course can take around 5 hours to complete in the summer. They do stack tee times. However, the staff has always been sweet hearted and helpful. Give it a shot. Sometimes you can play twilight and get 18 in in 3 hours.

Thank you for your review and we apologize for the negative experience you had while at Prince William Golf Course. Unfortunately we had our opening Golf Shop Attendant call out sick at the last moment that morning. Our AGM arrived onsite as quickly as he could. Since COVID we have not have water on the golf course due to health concerns. We do have this posted on our website at time of booking and I am sorry that you may have missed that. We hope to have you out on the course again soon!
