Windy
It was very windy this day. The play was too slow. Maybe the course was overbooked since carts were not readily available.
Nice fairways, greens were in fairly good condition, enjoyed my day, pace of play was great
greens and fairways were in excellent condition; but the tee boxes were not in very good condition
Good for the money
Still a little early in the year so some dormant grass, but I'm sure it will get better. Good deal for the money, good track.
Nice layout
The pace of play was awful. The starter fit an 4-some infront of us because they said the were booked together but had tee times later. This started the backup and the fact the now 8-some hit 2 or more balls each off the tee didn’t help. We finally quit for the day.
Nice layout,friendly staff
Nice course for golfers of all levels to enjoy. Nice layout with just enough challenges. Only downer was after finishing front 9 other couple left making us a twosome yet foursomes in front of us never offered us to play through which made for a very long back 9. Maybe a ranger would have been helpful. Otherwise very enjoyable and would recommend and play again.
Nice layout
Greens were good , tee boxes not so much . Good overall layout
Green to hard
It was very windy so it was hard to choose the right club, and the Green were so hard, the ball never stay on it.
Overall good
Overall a good course. If you miss a fairway ground is rock hard. Very playable nice course
Good course with no homes to deal with
Course was in decent shape with the recent rains. Most greens were excellent. Wet grounds led to cart path only. Makes for long and more challenging round.
Rules, rulers and rules
The course layout was good and we were able to play a nice, leisurely round without getting pushed from behind. The course was not in good shape, even for spring conditions.
However, they employ a cart dictator who wouldn’t allow us a cart until 5 minutes before tee time! We explained we wanted to hit some range balls and he said the range was closed. Shortly before teeing off, we saw many players hitting range balls but they would not refund our money for our range tokens.
They also have some arbitrary rules on shirts on the driving range (the previous day). No tee shirts with printing (but they would allow turning a tee shirt inside out!).
The least friendly bunch we’ve experienced here in So. Carolina.
Good value
Being from Canada this was my first time playing in six months. I was expecting an easy little dog track to start my week but I was wrong. There is water lurking on almost every hole and all of the par threes were legit. I’m a 9 handicap and didn’t break 90 so I’m back at again!
Golf trip to Myrtle
Traveling fro the Northeast our flight was cancelled and we couldn’t honor our original tee time, Whispering Pines took care of everything and and rescheduled our tee time. Every employee was helpful and friendly, from the pro shop to the starter and the snack bar. I will always recommend Whispering Pines.
