Fun course
This is a fun course to play! It isn’t too difficult and has very forgiving fairways. It is short, most par-4s you can hit a driver and then a wedge. Greens and tee boxes are in good condition and did not have any issues with the pace of play. Will absolutely be playing here again!
Great Round
As always...the course was in excellent condition...the staff was friendly...and everyone on the course played at a good pace...i will play this course anytime.
Beautiful weather. Course is in pretty good shape and not too crowded.
Fun to play
My neighbor and I played here twice so far this month (August). I's our first visit in just about 4 years. Both days were very hot and humid. The staff are friendly and check-in went smoothly. There are several tees to choose from so you can select a distance right for your handicap. The fairways are in fine shape. The greens had been aerated and sanded a bit ago and were still a bit bumpy but otherwise in good condition. The course is surrounded by huge old growth oaks so there is plenty of shade available. There are several "fun" holes - I’ll let you discover them. There are an abundant number of bunkers and water throughout the course. Also, an abundance of geese. Pace of play both times was good.8-18-2020

greens are improving but faiways still need help
this is an excellent course for seniors and ladies for the price it is a very good course.
I like the course but.....Pace of play
For what could be a beautiful day for golf this turn out to be intolerable, and not the first time. If the marshals would help in at least assisting with players playing through or even pairing up at the first tee box, I think this would help. I would/will go back, but I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

Great local course
I’ve played this course for several years and belong to the ladies league. Course is in great shape, even tho a couple bunkers have water, same as every course around here. It’s been a rainy season. Staff is great! Bob in the grill makes the best burgers. Pro shop has great prices and staff is welcoming and friendly. Loaner clubs are new and play well. Distances from tees are accurate and pace is good. Overall a great local course you will want to play again.
Take a Walk Through History
Founded in 1930, Ocean View is a staple in the HAMPTON Roads golf community..
Although the course has gone through changes in the last 20 years with it’s layout and, with development , there’s no longer an “Ocean view” , the course has something for everyone. From the back tee’s, the course plays less than 6000 yards, but the average player will use all the clubs in the bag.
Unlike “resort courses”, and other simple municipal courses, the player will be required to “work” the ball in a particular fashion.
Greens roll nicely
Bunkers can be a problem in that they can be hard pan., but, as they say, like the 2 big lakes on the property, , “don’t hit it there”.
There is no driving range to warm up and the clubhouse has no shower facility..
The grill is basic, but good.
The Club Professional, Andy Giles, is one of the most respected Pros in the area.
Green fees are under $30, and a good value for the quality of play.

Enjoyable track
Played Ocean view many times. It’s a good municipal course. Nice layout, open enough for high handicappers, yet challenging enough for lower handicaps.
Tends to be slow especially on weekends, but overall a good course.

Greens are getting better each time I play. Some of the fairways need help.
Sunday round
Had a good time playing a round at Ocean View, course was in great shape and the pace was perfect. Beautiful weather made it even more enjoyable!
Fast green!
Both fairway and green are well maintained. It's firm and very fast! You can easily get 20-30 extra yards on your drivers.
It's a par70, with considerably short courses and nearly no rough at all. It would be a good course for intermediate players. Not recommended for beginners, especially for a driver shot, since the entire course is an open area.
Fun course!
Maybe dues to amount of rain recently, but found greens bumpy, and tees needed to be mowed. Fairways were very nice as were most of the traps.
