About
Faldo Championship Course at the Wildfire Golf Club measures as long as 6,846 yards, depending on which tees you're shooting from, and lies on 174 acres and features some differences from the average desert-themed golf courses. Faldo offers abundant fairways, big bentgrass greens and tee boxes, as well as the golf course's neighboring mountains, century-old saguaro cacti and 106 sand bunkers - which remind golfers of Aussie sand-belt golf courses, which gives it a magnificent locale for golfers.
Wildfire Golf Club is much-feted: When the Faldo Championship Course opened, the Arizona Republic selected hole No. 2 among the valley's 18 best. The golf course received recognition among the 2006 Travel & Leisure Golf's "World's Best Golf Resorts" for family getaways and in the 2006 Conde Nast Traveler rundown of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America." These are in addition to the Gold Tee Award from Meetings & Conventions Magazine.

Very nice course. Plenty of sand to to fulfill your beach fantasy. As an average golfer this course was perfect. I'm sure it would.also be a challenge for professionals as well. Practice facility was excellent.
First time
First at the course everyone made us happy to with them to play golf. Jay the starter was fantastic was able to fit us in a little earlier. We played the Faldo course cart path only because grass not ready for cart traffic. If you a true golfer your ok with that and hoped they discount the round for that. We are at the bar afterwards my brother had French dip he said was great, I had the wings and wow more than I could eat and fantastic sauce and big meaty wings. Hopefully you will enjoy your day as my brother and I did and last but not least found some great items in the pro shop.

Faldo course just open
For being just open the course condition was very good, the only issue, as expected, was cart path only. Regardless it was great.
The course is very challenging with all the bunkers.
I enjoyed the course immensely and look forward to coming back...
Great layout but not kept up
Greensblack sand and when there are over 100 of them you will find it! Many bunkers filled with water and not raked out from thrvday before. Expect better for the price they charge
Pleasantly Surprised
I have played almost all the top rated coursed In the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. I came to town with a golf buddy for the weekend.. We wanted to play 36 holes and this time of year is hard because of overseeding. We both loved both courses. Personally I preferred Faldo over Palmer. Excellent customer service. On a hot day the ice water towels were great. Lots of water to keep hydrated. It's not the name of some of the other top courses, but I think you would be happy. Faldo course has over 100 bunkers. Visually, it is a great looking course. Fairly open for those who spray the ball. I will be back for sure!!!
Course in very good condition, just few too many bunkers
Faldo Wildfire
The course is fun, scenic and challenging. We will come back again and again. The staff are great and very accommodating.
Enjoyable round of golf
Friendly staff. Nice fast golf carts with GPS to font and back. Distance is always to pin. Greens rolled nice. Pace of play was slow. Staff worked hard to get slow groups to speed up. Water available on the course and we saw the beer cart 4 or 5 times during our round. I would play again.
Course in very poor condition
Played today and the greens are very thin and very difficult to putt. We had at least a dozen putts for birdie inside 10 feet and did not even come close to making the putt. It was very frustrating. Pace of play was very slow with Marshalls visiting often with no results. We both shot upper 70s and should have been around par.
Fairways were just Ok.
I would not play this course before mid September

Very nice layout! Waaay too many greenside bunkers! And waaaay too many fairway bunkers!
The challenge is to play from the correct tees! If you play from the tips, fairway bunkers are out of play but you leave yourself forever to reach the green; if you play from the blue or white tees, those bunkers are now back in play but you leave yourself a better shot at reaching the greens! The fairways & greens are in excellent shape! TG for resort golf!

Best course so far on our Phoenix tour. Really nice layout with lot of bunkers. The amount and quality of sand varied between bunkers. Greens in excellent conditions. Enjoyed The course layout: you had good visibility from teeboxes. Will play Palmer course next week.
Great Round of Golf with Friends
We played the Faldo Course with four players with handicaps of 13-19 and had a terrific time. The fairways were like playing on carpet- the very best I have ever played on since the Coeur d'Alene GC opened many years ago in Idaho.
Sand traps had the finest sand (somewhat grainy so there was no "compacting") and we found many of them! The biggest challenge for us was keeping ball out of the sand traps- not easy on some long approach shots.
The entire staff (pro shop, baggers, beverage cart, and starters) were all extremely professional and courteous.
The price ($30.94 including all taxes and resort fees) for each of us made playing a course of this quality very affordable and will certainly bring us back. Living in the area year-round we will likely play this course many times as the hot weather does not seem to have adverse effects on the course.
GREAT TIME SPEND ON THE FALDO COURSE!
Great course a must play
Great layout, LOTS or sand, but fair. Greens are in great shape. This is a track that should be on your list.
