Faldo at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge Resort

A beautiful desert course that is challenging but fair. It was in great shape. Fantastic practice facilities that are conveniently located. The staff were very friendly. The starter put our foursome at ease right away as our group met for the first time. I would recommend this course.

This has to be one of my favorite course to play in AZ. I always seem to find a great deal on golfnow were the tee time is 50-60%. The course consitions are perfect. The greens fast but true and the overal experience is just a icing on the cake.

Faldo at Wildfire!!!! Second course I played while in Scottsdale. Course is in terrific shape, I don't even think a stone is misplaced on either of their 2 courses at wildfire. Fast true greens, and for rough a dead thatch that doesn't look like much, but is very grabby on both the club and ball. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Used to play here every year a couple of times....from 2000 to 2008 then we found that the course was just not being kept up like it had been in the past. Staff seemed somewhat aloof and service had fallen off. Played on 12/7 and was glad to see that they have made a comeback. Course was in great shape and service back up to where it used to be. maybe management changed?? whatever it is keep it up. great facility and now 5 stars again.

Have always tried to make the Faldo course part of any golf trip to the Phoenix area and it never disappoints. The fairways are generous, which is great when you're coming from parts of the country where the golf clubs have been put away for a month. The bunkers are great visually, just don't get in them very often or you'll have a long day.

Can't wait until next time.

From the moment I made my reservation to completion of my round, I enjoyed the experience. The Staff made me feel like a Member and paired me up with two Members. There assistance with some of the course features were very helpful . Like staying away from the 200 + traps. Although recently overseeded,, the course was in excellent condition and playable.

THE COURSE IS ALWAYS IN GREAT SHAPE AND TODAY WAS NO DIFFERENT. The rough was a little deep but coming out of overseeding to be expected. The only thing negative was the driving range was closed and no one told me of that before I booked. I love to take advantage of the range before and after a round so that was a huge letdown. The only other Drawback was the price. Very steep, but if you have money play this course it is awesome!

When I got there and saw 8 carts full of rented clubs waiting to tee off in front of me, I knew it wasn't a good sign. To his credit, the Marshall did his best. Greens very slow, coming off overseed, but zero complaints with the rest of this gorgeous golf course. Highly recommended.

Faldo Course just came out of overseed 2 days previous, so greens were very slow. Played from Championship Tees. Front side lulls you a little, then you find the teeth of the course - 2 of 3 par 4's to open back nine in excess of 440 yds. And, it didn't get any easier from there! Lots of bunkering throughout course, making shot control a priority. This is a "must play" venue.

Really enjoyed the course. Nice layout with very different holes. Not overly difficult and short, however you need to be precise and helps to play with members, who I happened to get paired with. Course was getting prepped for overseeding so the grass was brown but i'll forgive that as its necessary, but greens were in good shape and tough. Very quick round - 3 hours. Only critique was the bunkers needed more sand.

This is a very good track in good condition. Staff was excellent. First time in a long time I've seen a marshall (thank you Tommy Price) take control! Great pace of play. Had a good experience.

Always a pleasure to golf Wildfire. Deep green grass everywhere. So wet that a few drives plugged. But within an hour of our 9:30 tee time was better. Be prepared for 100+ bunkers on Faldo but generally not too much in your way off tee boxes. Over the years we have looked forward to a quick shower after but as of 9 months ago a locked door 'For Members Only'. Another problem with the elitism of golf. We need to prepare for the next generation who are staying away in droves. Open up access not the reverse. However the very accommodating staff drove us over to the spa which was great. My only criticism is the yardage markers on tee boxes. 3 of us gents decided to play 6600 yds which we determined were the blue markers. However for the vast majority of tee boxes the blue markers were actually on the Regular tees. If you don't watch the cart GPS you could end up playing 6100-6200. We have found over the years a common problem in the valley - you pick your yardage and more times than not you're back tracking. Certainly does not speed up the game which is what I was told years ago. Also for many tee boxes we were within a few steps of the very back of the last tee box so not sure where the 6846 yd markers would go. Might sound a tad petty but for 0-5 handicappers yardage dos make the challenge.

The course staff treat you great from first arrival to the end of the round. I found the course challenging but a little more friendly when not hitting the fairways. Be sure do sharpen your sand has me because this course has a lot of sand traps.

Course was in very good shape. Visually stunning from the tee box with lots of bunkers framing the fairways and surrounding the greens. You can score very well if you avoid the green side bunkers, find the sand and your score will increase dramatically. Is a definite must play while in Phoenix

I can't remember playing a course in August that was in as good a condition as this was. Fairways looked like March/April and the greens were true and rolled out nicely. All of us were impressed. Kudos to the staff and of course Mother Nature for adding some monsoon rain to the mix.

I enjoyed the round, had good conditions for summer play, at reasonable price.

Helpful staff, beautiful course, just a lot of stops and starts with some pace of play delays. Good chance to breathe deep and remember I'm golfing not working!

The Faldo course was a great course to play. Fairly forgiving off the tees. The greens had been aerated a couple of weeks ago so a little bumpy, but you would expect that. I would definitely play it again!

Great conditions although the other 3 guys I golfed with thought the greens were in bad condition & slow. I did not feel either way. 105+ bungees make it challenging but still very fair.
