About
Faldo Championship Course at the Wildfire Golf Club measures as long as 6,846 yards, depending on which tees you're shooting from, and lies on 174 acres and features some differences from the average desert-themed golf courses. Faldo offers abundant fairways, big bentgrass greens and tee boxes, as well as the golf course's neighboring mountains, century-old saguaro cacti and 106 sand bunkers - which remind golfers of Aussie sand-belt golf courses, which gives it a magnificent locale for golfers.
Wildfire Golf Club is much-feted: When the Faldo Championship Course opened, the Arizona Republic selected hole No. 2 among the valley's 18 best. The golf course received recognition among the 2006 Travel & Leisure Golf's "World's Best Golf Resorts" for family getaways and in the 2006 Conde Nast Traveler rundown of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts in North America." These are in addition to the Gold Tee Award from Meetings & Conventions Magazine.

Too much sand
Overdone with sand traps.
Time to play was way to long.
General review
Having played Legends Trail prior to playing this course was disappointment. Both in course condition and layout. Much better value playing Legends. Would not likely come back to this track as so any other great golf courses in the NW part of Phoenix.
Faldo likes sand
Enjoyed the round. As long as you keep it in play, you are good to go. Just bring a sand wedge in case you can't do that. LOTS of sand to play in.

Always pleasant to play here
Course was in great conditions. It was noticeable the difference between the front 9, and the back 9 that were used during the LPGA tournament. Even though the overall conditions were very good. Staff very friendly, and the weather was excellent.

Perfect day from tips 6900 yds.
Practice facilities and Clubhouse kinda far from where you grab your cart.
GPS on cart, but no ball/club washer.
Good grass conditions. Green speeds inconsistent.
Very busy around the holes with cars, construction, activity, non-golfer walking around and in front of your tee shot.
Ok course, have played better and more scenic courses in Phoenix.

Played course week after LPGA tournament, it was in excellent condition considering the play from the event. Will be back.
Staff was first rate!
Weeds in the bunkers...really?
Was shocked to find weeds growing in the bunkers...not just in one or two...but more like 6-8. There was no course advisor either. Thought there should be.

1st class course, great condition as they were getting ready for an LPGA Tour event.
bring your sand game
The course was in excellent condition. The pace of play was good. Just be prepared Sir nick faldo certainly had the beach on his mind when designing this course, at least 10 bunkers to every hole..or at least it felt like it. Great course just the same.
Nick Faldo Course you have to play
We really enjoyed the course. Be warned...lots of sand. You needed to place your shot a bit, so course management is needed. Delightful layout...can't wait to see the LPGA play there next month.
Good Desert Course
The Faldo course is good, but nothing special. If you get a good price, it is worth it. Otherwise there are better choices in the area.
Awesome course
Staff was great. Course was in tremendous condition. Firm greens but true rolls every time. Wonderfully manicured bunkers and paths. Sand is bunkers was amazing. This is a must play for the price.
Great Resort course
Fun and very fair course but do your best to avoid the bunkers which might wreak havoc on your score.
Stay out of the bunkers
Course in great condition. Many bunkers, however I only found myself in one greenside bunker all day. Sand was good, although there were some small stones in the sand. I prefer the Palmer course but both are excellent. Faldo greens were a bit slower and had more ball marks, but otherwise an excellent day.

Course was in great shape. A lot of guarded sand. For this time of year the value was good

Beautiful course of "target golf". Excellent condition and very challenging.
Practice facility needs to have area available for practicing sand shots (since there are hundreds of traps throughout the Faldo Course).
Lots of Sand but Great Play
If you like sand, this is your course! 180 bunkers in total so roughly 10/hole! Still, the condition was top notch and if you play it strategically, you can avoid much of the sand. Highly recommend playing it if you're in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.
Challenging traps!
Recovery shots are key here in scoring well. Greens in regulation are hard to come by!
