Great course but had weird altercation with member and employee.
First off, I would like to say the course was great. Great price, great fairways, great greens and nice views. It’s not views like some courses have; but its very simple and tucked away in the forest, which I very much enjoyed. The design of the course is simple but beautiful. The course is maintained very well with fresh cut fairways that felt great hitting off of. The only problems I have with the course are that a member decided to call the groundskeeper to complain about me and my partner driving up to the green. Whenever there was a sign that notified us to stay on the cart path, we did. But this member took it upon himself to lie and say we were driving on the actual greens. Ridiculous. Then the groundkeeper rushes up on us asking us why we’re driving on the greens and that a member behind us called him and told him we were. We told him we were not driving on the greens and proceeded to go to the next hole. At this point, the groundskeeper started following us and it felt like he started rushing us because he said he “needed the golf carts by 5:30” (I have never had a golf course tell me I needed to be done by a certain time to turn in my golf cart. This is unusual especially considering its summer time and the sun doesn’t go down until around 8ish now. Are people not supposed to play in the afternoon? I’m not sure. Either way, I loved the course but didn’t like the way the member lied about us and the way the groundskeeper interacted with us. Would recommend because this was our first time and I’m not sure if this is something that frequently happens or not. Must also not forget to mention that the wildlife around the course is pretty interesting as well.
Awesome Day for Golf
Nothing to complain about, except my poor play. Course was in great shape.
A Course for any Golfer
Crown Park is a golfer friendly venue for any handicap. Large greens with slope make you really think about which way it will break. Friendly staff makes for an enjoyable day of golf. This is a must to play!!
Rude staff
When I got there I was ignored by the staff. I went inside and it was a little better. If you're not a people person please don't take a job that works with the public.
Good Overall
This is my first time playing this course and there were a lot of surprises for me. A lot of water on the course But in pretty good condition. . The greens are growing right now with the new grass so they’re either not true or my putting was really off. And usually I’m a good putter. I really enjoyed the course though it’s quiet and serene and challenging.
Favorite
When we come to the Myrtle area, Crown Park is the first place we call for a tee time. It is a great course!
Leave Your Driver In The Bag
Lots of holes you will have to leave the driver in the bag. Played a day after it rained a lot and the course was fine, however, it was cart path only which made it brutal for pace of play. Especially with COVID-19 rules still intact and everyone required to have their own cart. Everyone on the cart path. I would play here again with a pandemic not occurring.
Nice round of golf.
Fun course if you can keep your tee shot straight. Had enough challenges to make it fun but easy enough to shoot a decent score. For the price, this course is worth checking out.
Go with friends
As a single, no one would allow me to join them including same tee time two some. Most unfriendly bunch ever met. Most wanted to play alone so if you're scarred, "stay home." After that experience and the unfriendly Pro Shop attendant, I realized why I did not return to play last year. Unfriendly, hard nose, rude employees working in an environment requiring well versed, friendly, welcoming and positive attitude individuals. Not run of the mill losers. No hello, welcome, have a nice day and please come back. Pay up, go play and get lost. I will not return, ever, to play a great track with 2nd class employees.
Crown Park GC
Great course to polish your long and short game on.
Very nice course
Liked the course a lot. It was in great shape. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Wet course
Course was cart path only and you had to really look for some place to get a dry spot. The greens were at a consistent speed and rolled well but really slow. Would like to play this course when it dries out but will have to wait till next year.
Great short game work !
You don’t need your long game ! Enjoy the coarse very much .
Decent Track
Played this morning. Not a lot of play due to the virus. Greens played well. Offers a decent challenge for most golfers.
Slowed down!!
Played as a twosome with a threesome ahead of us. Pace was good until we made the turn. For some reason the starter put a foursome of seniors between us and the pace slowed tremendously as we cudnt play thru. Ruined our game!! Otherwise the course was great!!
