Decent course, not user friendly.

Well, the course was nice and in good shape. Clubhouse was nice and clean. The lady in the bar area was nice. We didn’t appreciate the staff being overly strict on the 5 minute rule at the turn. When you stop at the turn and get additional refreshments and order food, you’d think they’d encourage that. Nope, we were hassled. So, if they’d be a touch more friendly when they aren’t so busy...it’d be a great place to golf.

Also, wear bug spray! Mosquitos were viscous!

A wonderful find.

Been coming to Myrtle Beach for 22 years but never played this jewel. My wife just started playing so we didn't want to drop a lot on a round so we found this course on Golfnow. The staff was wonderful, we found the course layout challenging but fair. We breezed through in 3 hours 20 minutes. The course condition was very good considering Dorian came through a week before. The food and dining area was very good. Will definitely come back again.

Management Friendliness

Called early requesting tee time before online time and informed, after 930 am. Showed up, went in to show reference number from GolfNow and was told we don't make any money from GolfNow and I shouldn't let you tee off when all he had to do was check me in at 1:23 instead of 9:45.. No personality, no thank you have a nice day or come again, and the starter was worse. I won't return to a nice track with 2nd grade employees. Golf is a game of friendliness when a customer pays to play your course, not show me your attitude...

Nice course/Great value

Crown Park Golf Club is an exceptional value for the area and it is important to judge it as such. It is not "county club" caliber course but it is a very decent course and for the money it is an insane value. We went on a Saturday afternoon, got a "Hot Deal" tee time from golfnow.com and had the added benefit, like many courses in the area, of being able to play with my 15yr old son for free. If you want a very high end experience there are plenty of those courses around MB but for me and my son to have fun for an afternoon and not pay exorbitant green fees doing so this was perfect.

Cool layout

Risk reward course. Fun to play. Course in good shape. Staff not overly welcome.

Cart guy joe acted like he got mad we didn’t drop clubs off. We elected to pull cart to vehicle. No one advised where first tee was or anything about course. But I want there to make friends.

I would play again.

needs some southern hospitality

arrived a little early. Ate at bar and the hostess was great. after that it was all downhill. The starter had the personality of a rattlesnake. He should be cutting grass not greeting and speaking with customers. Got behind a threesome and could not decide whether they were trying to play golf or train for a mosquito swatting championship. No problem with beginners playing golf but let a single player come through. course was in pretty good shape. some interesting hole layouts.overall it was ok

good course for the money

Had first tee time of the morning played with guy I met the day before and a two older gentlemen . Pace of play extremely slow. The older gentlemen were decent players but it was cart path only which really caused the pace to be slow despite playing ready golf. It frustrated me for 4-5 holes but then I got over it. Water on a lot of holes course was in really good shape. If it wasn't cart path only would have really enjoyed the round.

Crown Park

Great course. Will add to my favorites.

I don't like split tee starts. 90 minutes for first nine, almost 3 hours for second nine.

Everything was Great

We played on July 15 and 18 and enjoyed it thoroughly. Staff was friendly and helpful. On the first day, we began "cart path only" due to heavy rains two days earlier. Before we completed 9 holes, the starter drove out on the course and told us we could drive on the fairways now. I've never had that courtesy before. The golf course was in great condition, tee to green. It is a challenging layout for us mid-handicappers, but I would not call it difficult. It was just right. This was our favorite MB golf course both this year (July, 2019) and last year (July, 2018),

Hot n Dry

Greens recently vertecut , very dry and burning in the sun. Tees a little chewed up from play but overall a great layout that's challenging and fair. Be prepared to be turned away when asking to join up and play along. As a single I was turned down twice which sours the day because Golf reveals character, it doesn't create it and these kind of losers aren't golfers, so I'm glad we didn't play together. I recommend this course because it's fun and not the usual back and forth layout that's boring to play.

Great value

I played here with my son when we first got to the beach. I booked the tee time through Tee Off, and was pleased with the rate. We practically had the place to ourselves. This course seems to be similar to the typical Myrtle Beach layout: wide open fairways, not loo long, and lots of big pine trees separating the fairways. The bunkers were in good shape, greens were very good. My only regret was I wish I had just paid for nine holes because my little guy can’t hang for 18 yet, and so it was money wasted. I would definitely play here again.

Wide Open

Course was wide open due to cartpath only and Sunday afternoon. Outside of the wet feet conditions it was excellent.

Weird layout

Greens and fairways were great shape. Bunkers were mostly packed dirt. Course is heavily tree lined with narrow fairways. .a lot of holes had water hazards crossing the fairways at around 230 to 250, which took driver out of play and made you lay up which also caused a lengthy second shot. Greens had a fair amount of slope and were tricky to read. If you play the course a lot you can probably learn to play the holes smarter but first time golfers will find knowing what to hit a challenge.

Nice course

Good speed of play.

Some golf paths need work.

The staff is not friendly. They act like they are doing you a favor for you to play there.
