The Grand Bear Golf Course

The greens were perfect. They are FAST even when wet but they roll true. They don’t break as much as it looks but it’s definitely nice. Watch out for wildlife! Deer tend to be around when you don’t think they are, so keep an eye out! We got a deal for 75 each which you can’t beat! We arrived early (before the sun was up) - they weren’t open yet - but they came out and loaded carts for us and let us start on the range early. They also had an opening for us to get out early in front of a group of 5. (It was just 2 of us) which allowed for a great pace of play. We teed off at 7:20 and we were done at 11 am. We could’ve finished faster but we were playing behind a 4-some… we passed them at the turn and it went good after that.

Greens were tough and fast. Staff goes above and beyond to enhance the experience.

I booked 2 tee times, Tuesday and Thursday

It took so long to play ( following a 5 some) more then 5 hours

So I canceled my Thursday tee time on the course.

I got a email that night that I was not eligible for a refund because Grand Bear as a policy of a 48 hrs

I feel cheated

I booked and canceled through Golf Now

Expect from going back and play golf for another 5 hrs because the cours have the audacity of having a rule of 48 hrs cancelation policy but accepting 5 someone and overbooking there course

But lack of personal (Marshals)

We visit the Gulfport area each fall and the Grand Bear is our favorite stop,it never disappoints. Played 3 rounds there this visit and absolutely loved it. Highly recommend it

The course is very nice. It is about 6 miles off the main road so it’s a quite place to play. We played front 9 in less than 2 hours. Then we got behind two groups (7 players) and it was a nightmare. They were screaming and loud on every hole. It took more than 3 hours to play the back 9. We were on the fairway on 16, par 5, 23 minutes to take our 3rd shot. It’s a such nice course but we did not see any course Marshall. Maybe just few not so good players. Hope this helps.

Only downfall was they do not have a drink/refreshment cart on the course selling drinks. They do have water and water stations on the course but I like a cold coke with a cup of ice during play. Overall though it’s a nice place and I’ll keep playing it.

We are road tripping around usa, generally we keep playing at new courses but we played it three times in a week, it was just so beautiful and peaceful.

The people were very helpful.

Would play it again & again but we are off to Natchez.

Course was in amazing shape the greens were fast and the second cut was actually hard to hit out of like it should be

Early morning tee time. Cart was dropped off at our vehicle to load clubs. Club house is nice and clean. Prompt service. Pace of play was perfect. Course is more difficult than our local but still some what forgiving.

Other than the heat the course was on point. Fairways clear. Greens was perfect with no patches or dry.
