Siena Golf Course
About
Gripping it and ripping it may be in vogue, but course architect team Brian Curley and Lee Schmidt are not going to let that be the extend of your strategy at Siena Golf Club.
This Las Vegas course is about shot-making more than bombing away. Siena's 97 pot bunkers are arranged to force frequent strategic decisions. Sometimes discretion is the better part of scorecard valor at Siena.
Hooking the ball every which way is paid for dearly at Siena. It's best to go with the clubs you can hit reasonably straight and give up a little distance.
Views of the surrounding mountains are complemented by six different water bodies, including Lake Siena. You'll be strategizing in some striking scenery.
"I don't think you'll come away impressed with this course," marketing director Mick Toscano said. "I think you'll come away awestruck."

Beautiful day in Vegas Photo submitted by u000005603476 on 03/19/2013
Lots of bunkers
Course was challenging but nice overall
Siena - June 2
Course was in fantastic shape & offered a number of challenges, very scenic too.
Las Vegas Gem
Wow- what a nice course - scenic views, well maintained, challenging layout. Enjoyed it very much.
Slow play. Over priced for course conditions
The round began poorly with the start barking at us. We got of a little late which was not bad. The fairways were fairly chewed up. The greens had too many ball marks. There are no 150 yard markers on the course which makes it difficult to judge distances. If you enjoy sand traps this is a good course for you to play. The course marshal was friendly which was nice. We waited at least 5 plus minutes on very hole which made for close to a 5 1/2 hour round. They 4some behind us hit into us 3 times during the round. I have played several course in the Vegas area and this one is now definitely scratched from the list.
Good track to play
I enjoyed playing this course even though it felt like I found every single bunker on the course. Course conditions were good but we played late in the day and the poa had grown making the greens a bit bumpy. That's the risk u take for a 1 pm tee time. I didn't interact much with the staff but they were friendly. I played poorly and was like 9 over, so,I can't wait to get to the course again and bring that number down. They do need a predator on the course to reduce some of those rabbits. I bet there were 500 on the back nine.
Expect three putts.
We teed off late as they added some groups. Play was horribly slow. No one on the staff seemed to care. Called Pro Shop and they did nothing. Partners I played with quit after the 12th hole.( 3 1/2 hours) I really liked the course layout. The greens were very difficult to read. The front nine fairways are a little furry but it's easier to hit off them. The back nine have been taken over by rabbits and their droppings. YUK.
I hate being lied to!!!!
The course marshal lied to us. We were a threesome with one teenager, diligently learning to play, all fast players who were very conscious of keeping up with the group in front of us. On the 9th hole the marshal came to us at the end of the hole, indicated that as a grandfather he understood that it was important to have time to help the youngsters learn how to play (it was not my grandchild, I was just lucky to be teamed up with them!) but that we were holding up the course and that there was two open holes ahead of us. We knew this was impossible as we had waited for the foursome ahead of us on virtually every hole. On the the 10th tee we hurried only to find the group ahead had not had yet hit their second shots. I would have vote to fire the guy for lying to us so deliberately.
Additionally, no one is encouraging people to rake the bunkers. They are everywhere on this tough track, but there were the worst footprints and hit marks everywhere. I felt like I should have been paid for all the raking I had to do here. Additionally, the sand had been reworked to a very loose consistency, which aggravated the problem. If the bunkers were consistent on the course it would be fine but they were different everywhere.
Golf shop staff top notch. I had forgotten a sweater the day before at Arroyo and they phoned over there to confirm that the course had it and would hold on to it for me. Top marks for customer service.
Pleasant surprise - great desert golf
We had never heard of this place and it was one of only a few places with tee times on Superbowl morning.
Its an easy 20 minutes drive from the strip and a fantastic little course with amazing views.
Tricky enough to challenge a good golfer but not so crazy that its no longer fun.
I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it over many of the other over-priced courses around this area.
LV Golf
Great course everyone coming to Vegas should play it
RECOMEND THIS COURSE
THIS GOLF COURSE IS REALLY NICE, I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE HARD BECAUSE OF THE SLOPE RATING, HOWEVER IT WAS EASIER THAN I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY FUN AND THE GREENS ARE SUPER FAST SO BRING A SOFT TOUCH TO THEM OR YOU WILL BE GOING BYE!!! .. THE HOLE A LOT... GOOD LUCK AND HIT THEM STRAIGHT...
Beautiful course, a little confusing
We were visting in the area and decided to try a new course for us. We booked this as a GolfNow Hot Deal. The course was beautiful, and more than challenging for me. I'm not a strong player and had some problems getting the ball over some of the desert areas (I was using the closest tees). Luckily I always keep some 'throwaway' balls in my bag.The confusion comes from the lack of signage on how to get from one whole to another. Also, yardage is not marked well on the fairways and we couldn't track down sprinkler heads with yardage markings. It would have been nice if the carts had been gps enabled. The starter paired us with a local who made sure we didn't get lost, and gave us advise. He also had a gps with him and helped us out when
possible.
On the whole we were happy with the day and would come back again.
West side gem
Fun layout. Stay out of the bunkers, the fairway bunkers are well placed and punitive. Green have slope. Fun test.
Sienna golf experience
The course is a great course, but but not today. The fairways are still not right, we paid good money to play there and had to drive cart paths only. I'm sure it will be better after a while, but it is not looking good right now.
Worker Supervision
We were planning on being one of the last groups off the day before the over seeding/aeration work was to begin. When we got to the course, we found that they had already begun. The 5 tee boxes were grouped into 2, and some of those were being worked on. That didn't really bother me hugely. I did start to get bothered when the workers were in the bunkers next to the greens with their power tools so that if you were playing up to the green and your ball headed towards them, shouting fore would have been totally lost in the noise. With all the bunkers that could have been worked on they could have been somewhere else. Great employees greeting golfers, decent enough course but I'll probably spend my money somewhere else next time.
Slow Play!
It was nice getting a deal on Golfnow, but in retrospect, had I known about the very slow course play, I would have stayed home or gone elsewhere.
I was a single. They started me on hole 10. The party waiting on #10, behind me, was a twosome. I didn't know them, but they wanted to play alone (said they were beginners and were in no rIsh
..Ok).So after 3 holes of waiting, the threesome, in front of me, let me play through. When I got to about hole 16 I saw a 4 carts at the T box...I was cart #5. The cart lady, even commented on how bad the hold up was. She told me I was the 4th party, having to wait. So the twosome, in front of me was livid, they explained how the first group (another twosome) were hitting 3-5 balls each (most shanked in bushes). The second party asked to play the hole with them and the 4 were gone. I was asked to play with the twosome, in front of me. We eventually skipped 2 holes and drove to hole #1. At hole 3, same stufff....skipped 2 more holes. By the 6-7 hole, the twosome went ahead of me, as I tried to remain patient. I caught them, as they were waived on by another 2 some, but eventually skipped the last hole (#9). What a mess...never saw a Marshall and I guess that is the reason for the low Golfnow rate.
the putting greens were in bad shape
The putting green were bad. The cart boys and girls were friendly. The shop man men need to be friendly with guest.
Good use of desert landscape
Enjoyed a beautiful golf course that demonstrates how golf and the desert co-exist. Wonderful desert patches utilized on the golf course which makes the golf beautiful and challenging. The golf course is in very good condition and in a beautiful location. Enjoyed the afternoon and was able to experience a wonderful golf course.
Great course
Loved my whole experience. Great staff great conditions. Only drawback was no GPS in carts and virtually no distance markings on the course. Would go back in a heart beat!!!
Sienna golf in 102 degrees
We played a 3 1/2 hr round not waiting at all. Of course it was Summer in Vegas
We were very pleased w course condition ( stay out of the killer bunkers!), w except on some greens w disease.
The wind adds difficulty ( hence the par 5 375 yrds).
survival
Very challenging course and played in very windy, hot conditions. Several holes with needed full carry shots over native scrub and rockery. Greens were ok but sand traps hard as concrete.
Course probrably plays much different with no wind.
Worth the golf now rate.
