Ranger Required for pace of play
It took about 51/2 hours to do a round of golf. Twice there was FIVE groups waiting on a tee, once on the front nine and once on the back. There should be a Ranger to keep up pace of play. If there is a Ranger someone should train them how to do the job. Other than that the course is very nice and the staff very friendly
Fun course
Fun course, the t blocks, fairway and green were in good shape. Like many of the course since Covid have not maintained their bunkers. Little to no sand, wish they would just fill them in if they cannot maintain. Overall enjoyed the course and the staff was helpful and Courteous.
Classless Pro Shop
No class in the Pro Shop:
If I could give The Duke 0 stars I would. In summary, they charged me for an additional tee time I never made and they can not provide email confirmation proof that I made this change. Unfortunately, I’ve seen similar posts on the course.
On January 13, I made a reservation at this golf course for 3 people. Confirmation number xxxxxxxxx. On January 25, I called and requested an “additional” tee time for 4 more right next to the original if possible. This 2nd tee time was booked. On the day of play, we had 7 players just as planned. Two days later I notice an additional charge on my card. I called the GM and provided the necessary proof of 3 and 4. We exchanged a couple of emails and I ask him for proof of change. He sends me a photo crop of their computer and then proceeds to tell me “the system doesn’t send them an email confirmation for every tee time”. In essence, no “real” proof the change from 3 to 4 was made. Interestingly, he asked me if my group was just visiting or if we were locals. I told him visiting – he has ghosted me on communications ever since. I’ve turned this over to my cc company. As for the course, don’t make the drive. It was average at best. Longbow, Lone Tree, and others are much nicer and closer to the city with competitive pricing.
Fun course
Fun course , nice to play , staff is very friendly and helpful, pace of play can get backed up end of the day , mainly back nine front nine went smooth
Had a twosome in front of us, figured to be smooth sailing but the ran into a real slow 4 some that held all of us up. We had to wait on every swing.
Never saw a marshal to move them along, the group behind was were even more frustrated and drove up to us to see why we were slow.
Real review
We drove an hour from downtown Scottsdale to go to this course because the review said it was worth it. When we got there, we found a basically public course with pretty good greens. Everything outside of the fairways was crappy there was exposed pipes, junkie water effects. It wasn’t very nice to be honest. We wanted to come out here and play a good round on our vacation and I wouldn’t go back. This is a basically dog track for locals. It’s not a spot to spend time with your friends on vacation with.
Its a fun executive course
The staff was pretty friendly. You have to pay for ice unless you buy two drinks. Luckily beer was only five dollars each. The pace of play was kind of slow in the beginning, but it picked up after three or four holes. The fairways are nice and green, but there is some standing water. The rough looks to be all crab grass. The Grange Road inconsistently but still not horrible. Overall, I would say this is a pretty good value course.
Golf at its Grandest
Course is in beautiful condition. Staff very friendly. Greens are lightning fast and to read.Good food friendly atmosphere.

Totally Classless Pro Shop Staff
Reserved via GolfNow for Wed; we could not make it and spoke with course same day. Assured reservation would be canceled at no cost; we reserved for Thursday and played at 6:58AM. Now they are charging me for "no show" on Wed.
Totally classless, after our 3some also spent another $300+ in the pro shop.
Would not recommend this course under any circumstances.
So so
Course was OK. The green was very slow Pace was OK but little slow Or what is mine worth I gave 60% Of the money is worth
Duke it out
Staff were very friendly and accommodating, pace of play was good, course is in wonderful condition especially the greens
The Duke
Course condition was very good compared to many others I've played here in the past few weeks. Greens are not at all bumpy and fairways are green and lush in most spots.
Only draw back was that we were the second group out and it still took 4 hours and 20 minutes to finish, as we waited on every shot. And twice we waited while 2 of them fished balls out of the lake for about 5 minutes.
Very frustrating...
Good Condition, Fair Track
The course was nice and fun. It was not too difficult. The greens were fast as well as the fairways. It is not the closest to Phoenix or Scottsdale, but it is worth a drive. Especially considering the value compared to some of the other courses.
