The Duke was looking good. Sand in greenside traps was nice. Tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Greens rolled well and were receptive and yet still quick. Got around in just over 4 hours. All Duke personnel were great.
Big surprise1
I booked a group of all first time players who enjoyed the day! I wasn't sure what to expect from the late February rate charged at $120 each, driving range was a disappointment super sandy and wet prior to our 9 am tee time, balls not included. The conditions on the course were solid and the green speed fair and there size large. Warm up chipping and putting areas were very sufficient. The foursome behind us pushed hard and we finished in 4:10 with our group shooting 79-81-85 and 90! Not sure how they could push us however we do play the game of golf and FINISH our putts! I plan to return as the Hot deals surface in late March/April as the price should begin to drop. I say PLAY IT!
Great value and fun corse to play
Fun wide open course. Good practice facilities and friendly staff. Pace of play was an issue with decent waits on every tee box. But groups all had good attitudes and everyone was having a good time. I have already recommended this course to friends and I’ll be back to play.
Duke “improved”
We been playing The Duke over the past 15 years and we’ve experienced the course at its worst and at its best. Over the past couple of years many hours have gone into clearing and cleaning up the desert areas enriching the fairways and greens. The greens run true. Bunkers are a little inconsistent. That is, some have more sand than others. Overall The Duke is at its best. It was a pleasure to play.
Nice layout
Great clubhouse / practice facility- was disappointed with the greens - beat up and could use more care and ball mark repair
Challenging Course
I played with a nice older man and an employee from the course, who was very friendly as well as helpful. Course is in nice shape, and greens are fast with lots of undulations. Took a few holes to start getting used to them. Staff was great, saw the cart girl several times. All in all well worth the drive from Chandler.
KS Duffer in AZ
Will play again in future. Do not be fooled by Google maps satellite imagery Fairways lush and greens top notch. Shout out to Rusty grabbing me at car straight to tee box, arrived at tee time due to 20 minute traffic delay. Course is forgiving in fairways but greens will push you into many three putts or worse.
Great value for the money
Good layout and pace of play was ideal. Staff was great. Will definitely play here again.
Nice but slow.
Course was in good shape and good to play, but pace of play is a bit slow at just under 5 hours.
Don’t play here
Played this morning, played behind a 5 some. Note we played as a 3 some and there was (2)2 some behind us. They never once offered to let us through, we waited on every hole, every shot along with the two groups behind us. Drove their carts on the front or side of the greens with no care in the world, hit extra practice putts after on every green etc. I Complained to staff and they “well he’s the owner” no respect for the people who pay his bills apparently. Cart girl was also extremely rude. Terrible place to play golf. Don’t go there.
Desert Gem
A trip to the Waste Management allowed my buddies and I to try this course out. We stayed nearby at AK-Chin, so it didn't take long to get here. Lunch was ample and good value. Practice areas were great. The course layout was challenging but fun. Greens rolled true and were in excellent shape.
