Don't Overlook This Course
This was a fantastic course! It winds through residential but you never feel close to the houses. Conditions were great and pace of play was fantastic. Well worth the drive from Phoenix.

Still a ways to go before I can recommend
If the course had ample water it would be a great track. Bunkers are horrible. Hard pan in bunkers and LOTS of rocks. Greens need a bit more water. I realize water is hard to come by in AZ, but that’s the reality.

In great shape
Course is in excellent shape. I would play it if you found a deal as I would not pay the rack rate.
My only suggestion is to change the par 3 16th set up. This hole always, always play in to the wind and at 204 yards from the gold it is a round killer. Especially a day like yesterday when the wind was gusting over 20mph. Just not a great hole set up imo

Afternoon golf
Course was in good shape. Pace of play was a little slow. Two hours for nine holes. Love the way the course is laid out. Not overwhelming with sand traps. A fun course to play.

Disappointing
Really thought they turned a crucial corner early this year. Now it’s back to hard, dry, and worn.
A big part of the issue is carts are allowed anywhere and everywhere. At least be strict on where carts are allowed to enter and exit from cart path. Areas along paths are so worn it’s practically dust.
But, they are always busy so raking in cash is not the problem. This could be a great course with some water and care.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Duke. Clubhouse staff was friendly. It was wet and rainy the morning we played, Clubhouse didn't have any towels for purchase, otherwise things were great. It was a really fun layout, that was fairly forgiving.
