We really enjoyed our trip to the Duke. Clubhouse staff was friendly. It was wet and rainy the morning we played, Clubhouse didn't have any towels for purchase, otherwise things were great. It was a really fun layout, that was fairly forgiving.

Pricey
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of the course was a little high for the layout and course conditions. The greens are the slowest that I have played on this year and I have played over 25 times since January 1st

Average course
Overall Ok. Pace of play was ok and enjoyed the round but the condition of the course is not the value of what I would expect for this course. Teed off at 2:12 and just finished before daylight ended. Rough is rough. No grass to speak of if hitting a shot off the fairway. I’ve played this course in years past and was in very good condition prior to COVID. Not it’s lacking the attention it needs. Coarse staff very nice though.

Freeze Gopher
Well more like prairie dogs I think! Anway a picture pefect day to play and nice drive in from Tempe. Super friendly greeter on a chilly morning. Paired up with another two some. Pace of play was solid 4 1/4 hours of time. Had some rain 2 nights prior so a few big fairway puddles but nothing crazy. Back 9 more of a dessert layout with lots of wildlife we dont see in Florida. Nice bar staff and great views from inside. Was well worth the 40 min drive.

Sand in the bunkers!
The course is is pretty good shape. Fairways and tee boxes are good and the greens were in very good shape. The greens have a lot of contour to them and the speed was consistent. Unlike a lot of courses in the Valley, the bunkers at The Duke actually have sand in them! Nice to see.
It is an enjoyable course to play and the pace is always good.
