The Duke at Rancho El Dorado

My round there yesterday was over 5 1/2 hours. I don't think I will play there anymore.

When we arrived, there were three workers and no one helped us with our bags. There were no carts available, I had to carry my bag around to the practice range, chipping range and putting green. When our tee time came up, no one was checking or communicating tee offs. I again had to ask for a cart, load my own clubs, and ask to play at my tee time. We then proceeded to play 5 1/2 hours with a threesome. There was no captain monitoring time of play. Golfers ahead were drinking, going into private residence to get more alcohol and shots, Very poorly run, no management or customer service, mediocre golf conditions, pricey golf fee, I do not recommend this course to anyone and will not play here again.

The course play was so slow we left after 5 hours and we were only on the 14th hole.

No Marshall on the course all the All the water jugs were empty.

I will never go back

Played today, tee time was 10:52, it's now 3:30 and couldn't even get through 14 holes. Marshall called in sick, shortage of carts due to maintenance issues. Staff that was there very friendly and did give us voucher when we quit and came in and said something, overall poorly managed course

I have played courses all over the valley and the duke was hands down, without question, the absolute worst course I've played. Not only here but anywhere. ever. avoid at all costs

4 of us played and had a great time. Weather was good. Greens rolled really nice and a little quick. Overall generous fairways and decent shape. A couple rough spots but overall good. 18 is a great finishing hole. Ate at the restaurant and food was excellent and the service (Kiki) was outstanding.

Fairways were somewhat spotty. Fairways were tight but fair. Greens very fast.

Due to lack of starter and overbooking we teed off about 20 minutes later than our reservation. 2 slow foursomes ahead of us which involved us waiting on every hole. No ranger appeared until the back nine, but problem not solved. To add insult to injury bar and bathrooms closed when we finished around 5pm apparently because of a wedding. Was not worth the drive for us to come from Gilbert.

Easy to find. Easy check in. Carts can’t go to car. Sand bottles and ice chest on carts. Water bucket for towels. Tees good. Fairways good roughs ok bunkers with some sand greens are pretty fast. Played in 3:54 price now is better. Water for us on course

We played on Easter weekend and waited on groups ahead of us on every shot and they had a group ahead of them, the group behind us rolled there balls up on us a few times once while we were still putting on the green. There wasn't a Marshal monitoring pace of play so feel that could have been the issue. We hadn't played the Duke for a couple years and were excited to get out there and made the best of our day.

Pace of play is always first priority for me. Very little waiting on the course and I liked the combo tees offered on the score card. Long ride but I will play again.

Course is in decent shape for another transition time of year. Greens held and rolled good. Fairways had grass, bonus for April.

Easy to find. Easy check in carts can’t go to car. Ice chests and sand bottles on carts. Tees only slightly chewed. Fairways good. Roughs good and bunkers with good sand. Greens pretty fast and putt nicely played in 4 hrs. Prices coming down
