Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club

About
Silverado Golf Course welcomes all skill levels of golfer, but more advanced players will find the course pleasant but perhaps not as challenging as they would like. Located next to a bike trail that runs through much of Scottsdale, the course provides excellent views. While playing, golfers can enjoy vistas of the surrounding desert landscape as well as the Camelback and Mummy Mountains. A notable hole is the par-3 18th hole, not only for the gorgeous backdrop provided by the mountains but also its difficulty level. From its elevated tee, golfers get a good visual of the hole including the water and strategically placed bunkers that surround it.

Average to low quality public course lacking amenities
First, this course doesn't have a range. It does have some batting cage-type nets, but you will have minimal feedback on your shots or swing outside of feel—and that's if you get a chance to use them.
The course was rough for Arizona, even during our hot months. On many holes, the fairways were challenging to distinguish from rough. Fairways and greens were patchy with very little consistency.
I want to say that maybe 2/18 of the tee boxes (from the white tees) were flat enough not to impact your tee shot. Constantly playing the ball on a slope is not a great way to start any hole.
The greens didn't roll true, and each green rolled at different speeds from the next. It also seemed like lots of invasive grass had made its way into the course. You will be hitting and putting over cabbage regularly.
Overall, this course is fine if you just want to avoid typical desert golf and hitting from rocks but the value simply isn't there for me to return in the future. Your money is better spent elsewhere on a more consistent track that is better maintained.
Good Course @ A Good Price
Good conditions at Silverado combined with an excellent pace of play makes this course fun to play. Greens run very true and steady. Cutting the severe corner with your drive on # 10 starts off the second nine with a flair! More elevated tees on holes 10-18 makes the second nine more challenging ans scenic than the first 9. Hole #18 is one of the best par-3 finishing holes in the valley. Fore!
Bomber friendly and meticulous
First round today, friendly staff, decent tees and greens, receptive fairways, and overall thoroughly manicured course. The front 9 are fun and fairly easy, the back 9 is a bit more interesting. The downsides are there is no range but there are some nets, a putting green and a small but adequate chipping area. Some of the fairways and greens have some rough or burnt patches but they were not unplayable. Our early tee time meant we had some dew soaked greens and fairways but my buddy and I went out on our own, 10 mins early and got thru our round in 3:40 mins. We had no one in front of us or hitting into us and kept a fast but casual pace. One of the more fun rounds I’ve had this year.
Punched fairways
I have played Silverado in the past, but the front nine had been punched. I know this is a necessary evil, but it would have been nice to know before I made the booking.
Memorial Day special effects
Was so I impressed with American flag on 18th hole and flag holder on green. As a Us Marine with combat experience this met so much to me and who played with us. Just a beautiful and meaningful act of patriotism.
Good Course, pace of play meh
five hour round but course was in good condition for the time of year. Will play again but no more holiday weekends here
Great Staff, Poor Conditions
Hitting off mud way to often. Fairways were poor and greens were terrible. Can't justify playing here anymore. Excellent service from all of the staff though.
5 hour round in 100f
The course was way overbooked and the front 9 took almost 3 hours …. 5 hours total for a par 70 of this length is unacceptable.
The course was in rough shape considering the summer heat has not yet arrived. Lots of dry bare fairways and some pretty bumpy greens.
Last Minute Reservation
Was able to book a mid to late Sunday afternoon the same day. The staff was amazing from greeting us on arrival to preparing our cart, providing helpful course details and feature, at the bar, and through departure. The fairways were in perfect shape, the greens generally good with a few exceptions for patching. Enjoyed the layout, wide fairways for wide shots by a mediocre player. The one disappointment was the pace of play. We should have had time to make all18 however it was too dark after 17 to finish after 4 hrs 15 minutes of play. There was a group of 6 playing two groups ahead of us who were holding up play, due not just to the number of players but the time they were taking between shots. We wish the Marshall would have taken appropriate action. Aside from that we enjoyed the course and would play there again.
Fun Track
Overall great experience. Finished round in under 4 hours. Few tricky greens. But overall experience was great!
