Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
About
Silverado Golf Course welcomes all skill levels of golfer, but more advanced players will find the course pleasant but perhaps not as challenging as they would like. Located next to a bike trail that runs through much of Scottsdale, the course provides excellent views. While playing, golfers can enjoy vistas of the surrounding desert landscape as well as the Camelback and Mummy Mountains. A notable hole is the par-3 18th hole, not only for the gorgeous backdrop provided by the mountains but also its difficulty level. From its elevated tee, golfers get a good visual of the hole including the water and strategically placed bunkers that surround it.

Would not take a gift Card
I reserved three teetimes total cost 450 something. When I got to the course I went to pay to very nice people at the desk and when I handed them the gift cards they were like oh we’re sorry we’re not able to process those. I asked why since I received them just at Christmas time. They said that they had not been able to process gift cards since January because of some kind of software update. This is the middle of April I asked how did they expect me to pay and they said cash or credit card. They said that the gift cards were never expired and I would be able to use them any time. I pointed out that the guest that I had brought was leaving in two days and this would not work for him. They were very sorry about that. One of them eventually called the manager who came out and said yeah it was a glitch somewhere and they hadn’t been able to work it out and yeah, I would have to pay cash or credit card. But don’t worry your gift card never expires. I walked out to talk to the other guest. We had decided not to play there. And we were pretty upset. I was also going to let them know, they had my money, but was not letting me play the course. When I went into the shop the manager was there and he said here let me take your cards, I have got another way of making them work. And he did. I wonder how many people since January have been turned away from using their gift cards which they have already paid money to the club for. Not a good look at all.
Would not honor gift certificates until we threatened to leave
I had a $450 gift certificate to pay for three people at Silverado. When I went to the desk, the people behind the desk were very nice but apologetic and said I’m sorry, but we can’t take gift cards at this time. I asked why and I was told their system has been down since the beginning of January and won’t accept gift cards. . I was told if I wanted to play I had to pay via cash or credit card. The manager came out and said Yep they’ve been having this issue and when I said OK then I won’t play immediately said let me see what I can do and took the cards back into his office and came out and said I got them to work another way. This is the middle of April. Why they haven’t fixed the system that has been broken since January is beyond me, and I wonder how many people have been prevented from paying via their gift cards. I think this is really poor customer service.
Great twilight choice in Scottsdale
Skipped bag drop and the cart guys still walked out half way to my car to grab my bag which was a great first impression. The fairways are wide and easy to hit, good enough shape on them. The greens were the only blemish on my round overall they were pretty sandy but they rolled ok regardless. Jim the ranger was a treat to talk to while I was waiting to take my tee shot on 8, great guy. Go rockets Jim.
Started just before 4 and finished before 7 cannot complain about that! 14-17 are brutal to play into the sunset so be prepared!
Had fun.
Your starter was great and he needs to be commended. Very friendly and a pleasure to have had him there both times I have played. Can not remember his name but it was late and he sgtill was very friendly.
Long and short day
I had a tee time for mid afternoon and when I showed up at the course I found out there were multiple bachlor parties going on the course. No worries, that’s part of life. When I went out, I was behind a twosome of two men. My first two holes, took almost an hour. The 2 men in front, were so slow that there were two open holes after them, and me and another group behind them. I elected to go back and play one and two again as no one was on the 1 tee. I played 3 holes and the two men were now on the fourth hole. I waited nearly 30 minutes to finish the 4th hole and decided that this round would not be a fun day so I picked up my ball. Drove back dropped and cart off and went home. No marshall’s in sight play for the few holes I was able to enjoy, At the rate of play, it would have been a 3-4 hour 9 holes.
Tim
Great shape and a lot of fun to play . Very very friendly staff
Poor management
Course was good ands conditions were good, but we counted at least 4 or 5 groups of six playing, it backed us up so bad that we called the pro shop to ask if wet could just play the front nine again. I told them about the gross groups of six and they said the don’t allow that but did nothing about it. We didn’t get our full 18 because it got dark. The only way I would ever consider playing again is if I knew they would actually enforce peace of play, otherwise don’t waste your time or money
Silverado First Timer
Overall this was a great course to play. The staff are friendly and helpful. The tee boxes and fairways were in excellent condition. The greens however appeared to have been cut too close, and thus were hard and almost bare in some spots. The pace of play was a little slower than I like, but not bad. Our round took 4 hours and 23 minutes. We had to wait a few minutes on every tee box.
Decent course for value
Course is open for easy play. Carts need GPS for faster play. Greens in good shape and nice rolling. Carts could be cleaner
Good twilight value
Silverado delivers good value for the money. Course was in good shape with good pace of play.
Pleasantly surprised
We played several courses in and around Scottsdale during this golf trip and Silverado (which we thought was an under dog) was one that was underrated..! From the ENTIRE excellent, super-friendly staff, to the course conditions, to the tracks playability!! It was a perfect way to finish up a 4-round golf trip.. I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning to play this course in the future!
Nice course
Very well maintained, staff excellent - took bags from the car to carts. Very friendly. Cleaned clubs after round. Upbeat. Very helpful
Lot of cart driving between holes. Didn’t have to hit over much dessert which was very nice.
