Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club
About
Silverado Golf Course welcomes all skill levels of golfer, but more advanced players will find the course pleasant but perhaps not as challenging as they would like. Located next to a bike trail that runs through much of Scottsdale, the course provides excellent views. While playing, golfers can enjoy vistas of the surrounding desert landscape as well as the Camelback and Mummy Mountains. A notable hole is the par-3 18th hole, not only for the gorgeous backdrop provided by the mountains but also its difficulty level. From its elevated tee, golfers get a good visual of the hole including the water and strategically placed bunkers that surround it.

Great course
The greens were sanded but the rest of the course was great.
Bad greens
The outside staff said they did a micro punch a few weeks ago but these greens were the worst I’ve ever seen them. He agreed. Usually I love coming here due to how they take care of the greens but idk if they got a new guy or what but they were awful. Couldn’t even get a smooth 4 footer out of them. Makes the round pretty pointless when they are like this. Not to mention typical waiting on every tee box which is very typical for silverado.
Nice challenge greens in good shape but
My only criticism is something they can't do anything about- no driving range to warm up on. There is a cage but it is not very helpful to hit a ball and have no idea what it's actually doing. I did eagle the par 5 first hole but definitely could have used a warm up.
Father's Day Golf
My opinion the course was overbooked and there was wait time, especially on the back nine. There were some unruly players behind us who thought they could hit into our group and play through the hole WHILE we were playing. I have played this course many times and never had a bad time as yesterday.
Fun little track
This course is enjoyable. It's definitely not overly challenging and makes for a good casual game of golf. I played there on back-to-back days and have rarely witnessed so few balls being lost. This is definitely not target golf and errant shots often being playable from the neighboring hole. This course plays through a wash with fairly steep banks along the sides... it's like bumper golf instead of bumper bowling. In most cases players with a fade will benefit from the layout and slicers will still find this track manageable. Have a big draw? You will have to get more creative. For mid-June, although it has been a cool a start to summer, the course is in decent shape and will probably be much better in a week following what looks to have been a recent green aeration.
First time
The others in my foursome mentioned Silverado. I booked it. For that price this time of year I expected much more . We play at various courses and all agreed to take it off the list.
Good hot deal value
There is not a driving range available for pre round warm up. The fairways are a little thin. The greens a little bumpy. Good pace of play. Interesting layout. I would play again
If you use GolfNow
Been using GolfNow for a long time. If Something Happens and one of your players doesn’t show up and you tell the pro shop they almost always do not charge you for that person. Just bear in mind this place does. They strictly enforced or 24 hour rule associated with GolfNow. I’ve canceled plenty of times within a 24 hour period if I needed to. Sometimes things come up in the last minute and I think horses are aware of that. Silverado doesn’t seem to care about that. The course itself is in OK shape.
Silverado experience
It was a very nice round and good for average or high handicappers. The pace of play was great and we completed in less than 4 hours for our threesome. The course was in decent shape and the hard ground provide long rolls but difficult greens to stick (fast). Good value with room in the fairways.
Great finishing hole on #18.
Silver Lining
Pleasantly surprised!! One of my golf buddies said stay away”. “Lousy layout”. HE LIED!!! He musta played lousy & blamed everyone & everything else! Conditions were exceptional! Definitely on my replay list!
Terrible
Well, entire course is dry as a bone, if you like hitting off on rock hard fairways with no grass, this one’s for you!!
Good course conditions, especially for this time of year. Only negative was lack of a driving range. Friendly staff, and good pace of play.
Very nice!
Played the Phoenician the day before and there's not a huge difference. Playing a round at Silverado definitely won't be a let down. Course has a wide layout and is friendly to beginners while still offering a challenge. Staff was great and I will definitely be back when I'm in town.
