Great course, no staff or water on the course
We enjoyed our round of golf on the course. However, even early in the morning it gets hot out quickly and drinks get warm. We checked multiple water coolers placed throughout the course and all of them were empty. There was also no one coming around offering any kind of refreshments meaning your only chance was between 9 and 10.
Other than that, the course was beautiful, pace was excellent and we enjoyed our game.
Good
I've never seen Hernando this dry. Fairways are brown, greens ok but for a few spots. Some rain will do wonders. Still playable, no problems in that regard. Go play.
Better conditions than expected
Given the incredibly dry weather so far this spring, I expected the course to be parched. There are some dry areas, to be sure, and a couple greens have patches of repair, but surprisingly the course is in very playable condition with few tight lies. Pace of play, 3.5 hours on a nearly perfect day. Hopefully our summer weather pattern will soon start bringing much needed rain to replenish the turf.
Greens were faster than I remember
A solid course, great layout. Don’t recall greens being as fast as they were. Perhaps the dry /lack of rain as I rolled a liner 3W 180 yards today!! Always recommend!!
Hidden Gem
The course is in great shape. Greens are quick and fairways are awesome. Pace of play is quick. Did a round in 3.5 today as a single.
Very nice layout
We were very happy with the track of the bourse. We found it very challenging, but we did play from the blue tees which were playing to almost 6500 yards. For the money, we found it to be an excellent course and will only improve when the summer rains start.

Hernando Oaks is always a fun course to play....nice wide fairways with not too much water hazards however, some of the greens could use some attention.....the staff is always very friendly and accommodating as they allowed my partner and I to use separate carts. Looking forward to returning there again soon.
Pace of play
Love the golf course layout. Conditions were fine to above average. The pace of play was awful. If the other people would have wanted to pack it in after 9 holes. Just short of 5 hours. I don't understand why people can't play quicker
Disappointed
Course is in need of serious renovations
Tees are so hard you need a hammer to insert t your tee! Course layout is good, and distances are fair. Absolutely necessary is to have your fairway shot IN THE MIDDLE or you will pay a price! Not a course for beginners! Fairways are dry and hard. I will not play this course again and would suggest others do the same
Needs water
The course is very dry causing rock hard lies and greens that are difficult to hold. The layout is very good with many interesting holes.
