Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club

Hernando Oaks Golf course is a beautiful course and very challenging.

I enjoy playing this course and sharing it with my friends.

I would like to see the clubhouse /restaurant finished that would really make this place top notch.

Had read the reviews and most commented about how good the greens were....so we got there just 3 days after they aerated and sanded them! I understand that needs to be done, so no complaints, but putting was non existent.

Layout was good, particularly back 9, not a single house on it! Like playing in the wilds of Florida - great.

The ground was very hard even in the fairways. Course looks as though its being operated and cared for on a shoestring budget.

Will probably go back again, but will check first, so I don't get caught on the aeration cycle.

Over the years have played Hernando Oaks several times. Course seems in trouble again! Played on a Group Golfer $22 rate. It is worth $22 but a penny more. Greens were OK but fairways, tee boxes and traps needs alot of work There are too many other choices in the area to go back

First time playing the course. We all had a great time. The greens were the best I've played in months anywhere else. Kudo's to the superintendent. Nice course layout, challenging and very friendly staff. Will be back.

I'm always blown away by the conditions of the greens! Great layout, good pace of play and an excellent value. Need I say more?

Great course. First time playing it and I'll definitely go back! The greens were nice, fast and true. The course is not terribly long and has several doglegs and elevation changes. Similar to Worldwoods but more open. Loved it and will go again.

I have played this course on numerous occasions . Charlie, the new GM and his staff

have been outstanding . Always a great thank you for playing the course and have a great game. Course conditions have vastly improved from a year ago . I believe these greens are the best in Hernando County. After your round of golf on Friday's, they also have all you can eat fish & chips . Looking forward to returning next year.

These are easily the best greens in Hernando County. The superintendent should be given a raise!!

We arrived just after a heavy rain had gone through, Wasn't to impressed at first until we reached the greens it was just like a green carpet (Beautiful shape).

The fairways could have needed a trimming but all staff had been sent home because of the storm, all in all I thought it was a great course.

We booked thru Golf Now and was pleasantly surprised ! Very nice setting and the greens the best I golfed on while down here. The womens tee box does give them shot. Being the last ones out we had a beautiful sunset !! We will be back.

Very accommodating with both a change to a tee time, but also offering us an online rate even though I booked through another site. Club house never finished, presumably a victim of the cash in the late 2008's. However, the course is better then most in Hernando County (and I've played nearly all of them).

You should book a round here and get lunch which is made fresh to order!

Bunkers were filled with water no grass in fairways and greens were in bad shape. Will not play this course again sorry.

The staff and course are the best thing going in Hernando county at this time. However golf is more than fairways, bunkers and greens. Last week my shipmate J.B. and I had he most memorable golf outing when we were paired up with "Patrick" a 73 year young lad from Glaskow Scotland. Having crossed the pond on various trips to Holy Lock Scotland it was GREAT sharing golf and life experiences with Pat. There is more to the game than a score.

The course needs serios maintance work!
Couple suggestions, putting real sand in the bunkers would help tremendously instead of trying to hit out of clay! Rough needs to be maintained and Remove the weeds that are on the Greens.

The course is in good shape, greens were in great shape. Pace was fast. You have to see it to appreciate it! I would recommend this course. It won't dissapoint.

We had not played this course in quite a while because of previous course conditions. What a difference the new management made! This was one of the best courses my foursome has played in some time. Thanks to all the folks at Hernando Oaks for a great golf outing! We'll be back.

The staff who met us and Marshall were great and course is a great layout and improving in condition quickly
Traps were inconsistent but assume will get there

Read some recent negative reviews over the past several months regarding tall grass, weeds and area's needing maintenance. If I may July, August and September accumulated 42" of rain. That's right 3-1/2 FEET of rain, pretty hard to maintain a golf course that's under water. Played yesterday and this course is in better shape than any golf course in Hernando county. New manager is top shelf, 4.0 squared away. All the staff should be commended for the wonderful job they are all doing.

Played Hernando Oaks today and it's very clear that the change of managers is producing real results. The course has largely dried out. Greens are good and improving, weeds are being removed from bunkers, fairways (including rough) are being mowed regularly. A pleasure to play. My compliments to the staff on turning things around. While it's clear there is still a ways to go I believe most players would be happy with the new conditions.
