Nice suprise
Been a long time since I played here. I will definitely come back. If you can get by the old clubhouse and get to the first tee, you'll enjoy your round. Greens still needed a little work but overall I will recommend to my friends.

Excellent Course
Very friendly staff and course is in excellent condition!

first 9 holes course was very well kept up back nice needed a lot of work sand traps very bad some fairways not cut
horrible pro shop and staff
played twice in winter no carts even though place was empty staff was horrible and rude could care less booked tee time for july 16 tee time cancelled said they had a tournament booked had 1.08 tee time informed at 11.20 half way to the golf course guess they are doing so great don't need business go play other courses plenty around that will appreciate your business
Well worth it
Had an afternoon tee time when the sun started going down a bit. The tee boxes were a little long but other than that no complaints. Greens were a touch slow but that wasn't too much of an issue. The course is very playable and I hope they keep it in good shape this summer.
the challenge of golf
Hernando Oaks Golf course is a beautiful course and very challenging.
I enjoy playing this course and sharing it with my friends.
I would like to see the clubhouse /restaurant finished that would really make this place top notch.

Aeration
Had read the reviews and most commented about how good the greens were....so we got there just 3 days after they aerated and sanded them! I understand that needs to be done, so no complaints, but putting was non existent.
Layout was good, particularly back 9, not a single house on it! Like playing in the wilds of Florida - great.
The ground was very hard even in the fairways. Course looks as though its being operated and cared for on a shoestring budget.
Will probably go back again, but will check first, so I don't get caught on the aeration cycle.
Sorry to hear you got caught right in the middle of the aeration schedule! We know how this can really throw a wrench in the way the course plays, so we'll make sure to make it well publicized the next time we undergo maintenance. Needs Some Work
Over the years have played Hernando Oaks several times. Course seems in trouble again! Played on a Group Golfer $22 rate. It is worth $22 but a penny more. Greens were OK but fairways, tee boxes and traps needs alot of work There are too many other choices in the area to go back
Great course, worth trying if you've never played here
First time playing the course. We all had a great time. The greens were the best I've played in months anywhere else. Kudo's to the superintendent. Nice course layout, challenging and very friendly staff. Will be back.

Hernando worth the drive
Great course. First time playing it and I'll definitely go back! The greens were nice, fast and true. The course is not terribly long and has several doglegs and elevation changes. Similar to Worldwoods but more open. Loved it and will go again.

Great Golf Experience
I have played this course on numerous occasions . Charlie, the new GM and his staff
have been outstanding . Always a great thank you for playing the course and have a great game. Course conditions have vastly improved from a year ago . I believe these greens are the best in Hernando County. After your round of golf on Friday's, they also have all you can eat fish & chips . Looking forward to returning next year.

Greens
These are easily the best greens in Hernando County. The superintendent should be given a raise!!

The Greens of Hernando
We arrived just after a heavy rain had gone through, Wasn't to impressed at first until we reached the greens it was just like a green carpet (Beautiful shape).
The fairways could have needed a trimming but all staff had been sent home because of the storm, all in all I thought it was a great course.
Sorry to hear about the fairways! We've made a note on them and will get to the ASAP. Regardless, it's great to hear you enjoyed the course. Feel free to come back and play whenever you like!
Enjoyable time
We booked thru Golf Now and was pleasantly surprised ! Very nice setting and the greens the best I golfed on while down here. The womens tee box does give them shot. Being the last ones out we had a beautiful sunset !! We will be back.
Nice Course, Great Staff
Very accommodating with both a change to a tee time, but also offering us an online rate even though I booked through another site. Club house never finished, presumably a victim of the cash in the late 2008's. However, the course is better then most in Hernando County (and I've played nearly all of them).
You should book a round here and get lunch which is made fresh to order!
Great lay out poor condition
Bunkers were filled with water no grass in fairways and greens were in bad shape. Will not play this course again sorry.
Great Scott!
The staff and course are the best thing going in Hernando county at this time. However golf is more than fairways, bunkers and greens. Last week my shipmate J.B. and I had he most memorable golf outing when we were paired up with "Patrick" a 73 year young lad from Glaskow Scotland. Having crossed the pond on various trips to Holy Lock Scotland it was GREAT sharing golf and life experiences with Pat. There is more to the game than a score.

The course has potential, but needs work.
The course needs serios maintance work!
Couple suggestions, putting real sand in the bunkers would help tremendously instead of trying to hit out of clay! Rough needs to be maintained and Remove the weeds that are on the Greens.
I'm very sorry if you felt you had a bad experience here. Our crew has been working very hard to improve the bunkers - though I'd like to clarify that it’s a brown sand in our bunkers - not white beach sand, and not clay. I played Pebble Beach, and their bunkers have rock in them and I paid $500. All courses have a different design - that’s what makes golf so challenging! As for the greens, there are some weeds in a few places and we can’t kill them yet, as we will be pulling the weeds out of the greens in May. We did treat the greens with a pre-emergence which will help to stop them from spreading. Once again, I’m very sorry that you had a bad experience here . Great TIme
The course is in good shape, greens were in great shape. Pace was fast. You have to see it to appreciate it! I would recommend this course. It won't dissapoint.
