About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. Greens are nice, that’s about it
This course is overpriced for the conditions . The tee boxes are very rough and the fairways are not up to par as well. The greens were the only thing that was acceptable for the price. The course layout is very nice though. 20$ or less is a decent but definitely not 30$plus which is what I paid. We were stuck behind a painfully slow 4 some that were members and they never offered to let us play through. Took us 5 hours for 18 holes which is unacceptable.

Poor Shape
Played this course 20ish times in the worst condition its ever been. Cabbage on the fairways 10 inches tall. Swathes not mowed, greens in tough shape regardless of just being punched, tee boxes virtually grassless. My backyard looked better honestly. Used to be a good value not so much now.

The greens have been plugged & sanded. Fairways are taking a beating on some holes. Still thats drought golf. Dry & beat. Still a place to golf at the price is a good thing.

Downhill fast
It’s a shame this is a great layout and was legendary back in the day. More sand than grass on most fairways now. Bunkers are like concrete and havnt been raked in a year according to residents and no fresh sand in about 5 according to same source and it shows. Greens were decent and my only reason for not leaving 1 star. Everyone is always polite but please water and get this course into shape. It’s played heavily where’s all the money going??

Outstanding local professional course
Always a thank you to silverthorn for every time I golf here I do not have to worry about being stressed just trying to get a cart & tee off. The course is challenging every time I golf since I never hit the ball in the same location each time I golf there. Will be back again & again. Semper Fi..

Considering the lack of rain the coarse is in good condition. Greens were in great condition. Some fairways and tee boxes were dried out and need help. Overall not much difference in conditions than any where else in the area right now.

This course is in need of a lot of work. It used to be in great shape. Hard yo even drive a cart down most of the fairways. There is a lot of erosion on the course. Needs top dressed and sprayed. Should have sticker bushes on t- boxes and fairways. Pro shop also closed a 4:30 pm

Greens are good
I know it hasn't rained in months but, I have played other courses in area that are in much better condition. The tee boxes are mostly dirt. The fairways have some grass though lots of weeds also. If you miss fairway you'll be hitting off of dirt, stones and weeds. The bunkers are okay. The greens were surprisingly, in good shape considering the state of the rest of the course. I have been playing here for 15 years and am sorry to say I won't be playing here again. Well, maybe after some much needed rain and some good reviews.
