About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Tough day
Course is in rough condition. Tees and fairways need help. Greens were recently plugged, so putting was a challenge. Pace of play was super slow, 5 hour round.

Work in progress
Several areas are in progress of improvement which is good.some fairways need quite a bit of work. Traps are good and greens not bad even though recently punched.

Terrible Maintenance
Course has a solid layout if it was kept up with. Fairways are full of weeds and entirely overgrown. I’d give less than 1 star if I could. All that aside, the food was pretty good

Course is in bad shape
The course is very rough shape. Fairways.are spotted with weeds and dead spots. The fairways were worse than the rough at most courses. The greens were Sandy and recently aerated.
They had brand new golf carts and stressed that. Lol
I hope they are fixing the course it used to be a great course.

Greens are nice, that’s about it
This course is overpriced for the conditions . The tee boxes are very rough and the fairways are not up to par as well. The greens were the only thing that was acceptable for the price. The course layout is very nice though. 20$ or less is a decent but definitely not 30$plus which is what I paid. We were stuck behind a painfully slow 4 some that were members and they never offered to let us play through. Took us 5 hours for 18 holes which is unacceptable.

Poor Shape
Played this course 20ish times in the worst condition its ever been. Cabbage on the fairways 10 inches tall. Swathes not mowed, greens in tough shape regardless of just being punched, tee boxes virtually grassless. My backyard looked better honestly. Used to be a good value not so much now.

The greens have been plugged & sanded. Fairways are taking a beating on some holes. Still thats drought golf. Dry & beat. Still a place to golf at the price is a good thing.

Downhill fast
It’s a shame this is a great layout and was legendary back in the day. More sand than grass on most fairways now. Bunkers are like concrete and havnt been raked in a year according to residents and no fresh sand in about 5 according to same source and it shows. Greens were decent and my only reason for not leaving 1 star. Everyone is always polite but please water and get this course into shape. It’s played heavily where’s all the money going??
