Silverthorn Country Club
About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Fairways
The greens were good, but the fairways need a little work.
Getting better
Course is getting better. You can tell that an effort being made to bring the course back to what it was .Tee boxes are better but fairways need improvement . Need grass and or water. Around the greens are very poor. Need to get grass around the green. Greens were in very good condition and can tell that an effort is being made. All in all course is better than it has been in the last two years. Hope they keep it up. Love the layout.
Great Bang for the Buck
Saw this course on the hot deals and you can’t beat the price for the quality of day my brother and I had. We have been golfing for about 4 years with a 10 HDC. The greens are slow but great conditions. The fairways are spotty in some areas but didn’t affect the play. You get a little bit of everything with Silverthorn with slow pace of play on a noon Tee time. We can’t wait to come back!
Local player
Course is one of my favorites. Greens in nice shape, roll true. Some fairways lacking grass. Same with some tee boxes. Hopefully normal rains will again fall and help with that. I encourage the locals to support and play this course.
Good Course
Silverthorn is a good layout and is in better shape than other courses in the area.
Greens are especially good and quick.
Fairways on the front nine are generally good
but the back nine is not.
Traps are pretty good.
Worth the money.
Saturday fun day
Tge greens were ins perfect shape. Best I have played in a while. However, tee boxes and fairways, left a lot to the imagination. For what they charge to play here, the tee boxes and fairways should be in better condition. One can hope.
After reading all of the reviews that were posted, I made my own decision to book a round here. I have to make my own assessment of the coarse not go by someone else's option. When I rolled up it was a gorgeous entry gated and friendly guard pointed me in the proper direction to club house. Google maps has it wrong.
All staff was helpful n friendly. To the coarse, being from Iowa i was expecting fairy-tale perfection but once I got there it was a little rough and after asking the proper questions I found out y so rough. It's lack of rain. It's not the greens keepers fault it isn't raining. So if u are expecting perfect painted green fairways n tee boxes and PGA tour greens. Clean your clubs up put them in storage and come out to play in a few months after some rain and new growth. Stop putting the Coarses down bcuz they can't make it rain. Now go out and have a blessed day.
Greens are in good shape
Some bad lyes in the fairway and around the free but if you roll your ball like most of you do it’s a good course with a few gettable holes and a few challenging ones as well
Great greens but ends there
Greens in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes are poor with many bare spots and a lot of weeds. Some tee boxes are sloped creating tee shots well above/below your feet. Course publishes green fees of $38 up to $60+ making the value of play poor.
Fairways and approaches
Could use some work around the fringe. Fairways still has some bare spots. Not bad though.
It's ok for the right price. Lots of dirt areas, and no rain isn't helping. Greens ok. Some bunkers hard, some soft.
Not worth the Green Fee
Most T Boxes and Fairways are in mediocre to bad shape. Not much grass growing.
The Greens are excellent compared to many courses in the area.
Well, we gave it a try, but will not come back unless the long needed improvement can be made. Sorry
