About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

Great course for the price
Great course for the price. Not much grass on the fairways but nice layout.
Where is the maintenance
The fairways were bare, around the greens dirt, greens so hard you could not fix a divot that is if you left one. Was a nice course in years past but nothing is being put back into it.

Hire new staff!
26 broken carts in cart barn and that’s probably why they ran out of carts. Got a ride on a cart 5 minutes before my tee time. Golf course is only a 2 rating out of 5. Do yourself a favor, take your money and go play somewhere else! Whoever takes care of this course should be fired! I can speak from experience, I have 2 brothers that are GC Superintendents and have worked for both of them at their respective courses. It’s obvious there’s really no daily, monthly or yearly plan to make this course better! They only do the bare minimum and in many places, they don’t even do that! Every sand trap and tee box on course needs immediate attention! Some greens are better than others. Also, your concept of just throwing tie grass seen on tees and greens is just not working out for you! I’m really surprised all the people who live on this course and pay membership fees continually allow your course to fall in such disrepair!

Great pre-Thanksgiving Day
This is a very nice course, so I was surprised to see that it was not packed with golfers the day before Thanksgiving. We were able to tee off a few minutes early, we never had to wait for slow golfers in front of us, and we were never seriously pushed from behind. The weather was threatening to be cold and (possibly) rainy, but turned out sunny and mile. The course was in good condition, so, it was a great day for golf.

Bunkers
Bunkers need to be dragged more often. Whole number three bunkers are a disaster. First bunker on left side a fairway is unplayable.

Good course that needs work.
Really nice layout and some holes are in decent shape. The greens are in very good shape compared to some of the other budget courses in the area. Some fairways are in good shape, but some have no grass. Tee boxes overall are in rough shape. Finding grass on a tee box can be challenging.

Good for anyone
Great course with a sufficient number of hazards to Mae the course challenging but not too many so as to make the course too difficult for average golfers. Very enjoyable!!

Silverthorne
The greens were in good shape. A little bit slower than normal. A lot of tee boxes were burned out. A lot of the fairways were burned out. But now that World Woods is closed. It's either Silverthorne or Hernando Oaks!

Bad for price
Hot deal fortunately because the course is not in good condition. The fairways and the surroundings of these lack grass and it is unplayable in places.

Poor condions
Now I know why it was only $23 a round. Conditions were not what they used to be.

Average Condition
Course is normally in very good shape. Today not so much. Fairways were "furry". Greens had a lot of rough areas The speed green s was inconsistent. Sand traps were on the "firm side". Tough to hit explosion shots when the sand wedge bounces.
Pace of play was good.
