About
The Silverthorn Country Club golf course has earned its challenging 132 slope rating through a combination of rolling terrain, unpredictable Florida Gulf Coast winds, and no less than 96 strategically-placed bunkers. Joe Lee designed this course and it offers a mixture of wide-open links-style holes and tight, tree-lined fairways. The 25,000 square foot clubhouse offers a scenic vista of Silverthorn's championship golf course, surrounding lakes and splendid Florida sunsets. This classic blend of southern charm and golfing tradition will create wonderful memories for your golf trip to Brooksville

We enjoyed it, but some of the greens need repair Fairways were ok Tees need cutting Got soaked only played 12 holes
Great course
Friendly staff, played after it rained... But the course drains really good... The greens and the fairways are in really good shape... I would definitely recommend this course to others

Bad day
The first thing is this is a great layout dome really nice holes. The bad is the pace of play and the person in the proshop saying to me WE RUN THINGS YOU DDNT TELL US WHAT TO DO! I DONT HAVE TIME TO GO OUT AND SPEED UP PLAY I called in and said there was 2 holes open and the older golfers were taking a million practice swings and waiting for the green to clear before hitting. I wont ever be back Youhave been warned.

Early tee times ( at Silverthorn and most other courses ) make the tract more difficult because of the wet conditions and sun level. But the course was in fine condition...the greens were nearly perfect and the fairways nice and wide although some spots could use some attention ....and there is plenty of water and sand hazards that could catch a stray shot. Overall, a fun tract to play...looking forward to returning again someday soon.

Nice course
Most of the course was fine. Some fairways were thin and an occasional green had some bad spots.

They don’t care
From the very rude pro shop employee running the front desk to the lack of basic grounds keeping, this course is a 1 and done for me.
Fairways are worse that the ruffs at some muni’s and the “sand” traps feel like they haven’t been groomed in ages.
Course design was fun and wouldn’t have been overly challenging if well maintained.

Afternoon golf
Secrets out. The course is no longer empty Ayer noontime. It was one of the pleasures of golfing during the hottest part of the day, empty course. But as summer slides by I found myself behind at least 4 groups on the three holes ahead of me on the back nine. It took an hour on front nine & over two hours on back nine. Oh well. Course is still a pleasure to play at anytime.

Played from the white tees, nearly 5600 yards was a bit too long for this high handicapper. But the course was in fine condition, especially the large greens....the fairways were cut close but had spots of weeds and the rough was pretty high. Lots of water and sand could catch a stray shot. The highlight of my round was making a par in regulation on the par 5 finishing hole.....looking forward to returning again soon.....
